President Nate Westre called the meeting to order at 12:05 PM on June 8, 2016 at Los Altos. Ten members were
present.
A motion by Shannon Behnken to approve the minutes that were emailed prior to the meeting. Audrey Wells seconded;
motion carried.
No Treasurer’s Report as prese ted.

Beautification: (none)
Good Egg Days:
 The schedule is nearly set. A volunteer sign-up sheet was passed around for the scavenger hunt and street
dance.
 Food vendors in the park are encouraged to apply for a temporary food license. The Chamber has been warned
of the state’s restri tio s a d the Adair Cou t Health I spe tor pla s to ake a appeara e at the e e t.
Membership/Business Promotion/Special Events:
 A second round of membership requests need to be sent out.
Marketing/Promotions:
 Nate Westre reported that the committee awaits grant funding before moving forward with the new website.
Old Business:
 Nate Westre reported that a grant application for Hotel/Motel Tax has been submitted. Funding will be decided
o er the e t o th, ut follo s the Cit ’s fis al ear, so the positio , if a arded, ould ot egi u til after
July 1st. The funds would be used to pay for a part-time person for the Stuart Chamber to help with current
duties and also increase what the Stuart Chamber is able to provide for the community and members.
New Business:
 Far ers’ arket seaso has egu (Wed esda s : 0-6:30pm at Lawbaugh Park). Chamber members are
invited to attend to promote their business/organization as well as the Chamber as a whole. A sign-up sheet is
available.
Business Updates:
 First State Bank is hiring. Information can be found on the website; applications are due July 7.
 ACHS is actively recruiting a mid-level provider, as David Black has resigned from his position.
 Guthrie County Arts Council will host its 5th Annual Art in the Village on Saturday, June 11th at the Guthrie
County Historical Village in Panora.
 Ru ’s Pub is getting very close to opening.
 Scoop the Loop had a great crowd with a record of 101 cars registered, despite the construction. The next event
is July 9th.
Community Reports:
City of Stuart:
 The Downtown Infrastructure Project continues.
SEED Update:
 Wambold Addition continues to develop steadily. A press release with updates will be submitted soon.
 Kading Properties project has made progress.
 SEED dues are due.
Midwest Partnership:
 The Golf Outing will be June 30th; teams are forming now.
White Pole Road:
 The Marathon Sale was Saturday, June 4th. Those that participated reported good sales.
 New poles along the WPR will be painted this summer.

Community Visioning:
 Preliminary results of the Transportation Assets & Barriers Focus Group have been posted online:
www.communityvisioning.org. Maps and comments made at the workshop will be available at Scoop the Loop
and the Library. The next step will be prioritizing projects and setting the date for the Design Workshop.
First Friday Forum: (none)
