Students will be introduced to 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7-digit numbers. This book is divided into sections based on these numbers. Each section focuses on a particular type of number and the place values in it. Sections begin with an introduction to a specific type of number. Following each introduction is a series of activities that reinforce an understanding of the place values in that number. At the end of each section is a post-test in the form of a multiple-choice “Skill Challenge.” This post-test can be used to assess progress as students proceed through the book. Completing the activities in this book will help give students a strong foundation for success in math. The activities support NCTM Standards and follow state math standards and benchmarks.
