Patterning
The harness frames driven by linear motors permit virtually unlimited repeat lengths with pattern sizes of up
to 6,300 picks. Mechanical components such as cam
disks and pattern chains are redundant and the costs
of purchasing, storage and replacements in the case of
wear are no longer incurred. Furthermore, weave
changes can be made simply and in a very short space
of time. New patterns, which can be designed with the
help of MÜCAD MINI/MICRO software, are transferred
to the machine directly via the portable programming
unit or via LAN-interface (see leaflet MÜCAD – Supplementary software MÜCAD Direct Transfer).
Concept
The NHJM2 53 jacquard narrow fabric loom, which is
based on the successfully launched NH2 53, is fitted
with the electronically controlled SPE3 192 and 384
jacquard machine. The NH series looms (various patents pending) employ both components that have
been proven during many years of operation and innovations that point the way ahead in the textile machinery manufacturing sector.
The new drive concept of the main motor and the
replacement of mechanical controls with electronic
systems result in a major reduction in energy consumption. Moreover, the electronic control of the harness frames, which are powered by linear motors, permits practically unlimited repeat lengths. The weft and
auxiliary thread transports and the fabric take-off are
also electronically controlled and smoothly adjustable.
Weft and auxiliary threads
The weft and auxiliary threads are driven by separate
stepper motors and are therefore smoothly adjustable
in line with the thread requirement. During a pattern
change, the parameters of the weft and auxiliary thread
Applications
The NHJM2 53 is ideal for the production of elastic and
non-elastic narrow fabrics with inwoven motifs such as
names, logos and fashionable, decorative designs with
a warp effect. Patterning possibilities exist for up to 384
harness passages.
Machine control
The machine control system consists of two components:
1. A unit that is fix-mounted onto the machine, the
operation of which is limited to the functions
required for weaving operations.

Jacquardmachine
Machine drive
The main drive unit, consisting of a brushless servomotor, is located in the Jacquard machine, which it
serves directly, as well as powering the loom via a
toothed belt drive.
This drive concept has been tailor-made for the
NHJM2 53, as the performance requirement of the jacquard machine is markedly greater than that of the
loom. Consequently, the drive belt to the loom is only
subject to light loads, which has advantageous effects
with regard to wear and energy consumption.
Another advantage of this concept is free access to the
weft and auxiliary thread guide components. This is
possible owing to the fact that, as a result of the limited
load transfers, the drive belt to the loom requires very
little space and therefore has been integrated into the
centre support.

2. A portable operating unit with wireless transmission of
programming data to the machine. All the relevant
data and parameters such as fabric design, speed
weft density and standstill times, manual shift calendar, etc. are stored and can be called up at any time
for statistical purposes. One such portable device
can be used for the programming of several
machines of this type.
This clear separation means a considerable reduction

Important features
– Compact design
– Outstanding user-friendliness
– Low energy consumption (less than 2kW)
– Virtually unlimited repeat length (maximum pattern
length 6,300 picks) due to electronic frame control
– Possibility for extremely quick weave changes, no
preparation and employment of pattern chains
– and pattern drums with cam disks
– Positive controlled electronic thread transport with
smooth adjustment
– Electronically controlled fabric take-off
– Smoothly adjustable weaving speed due to electronically controlled main drive
– Electronically adjustable creep speed
– Precise and protective fabric take-off owing to nonslip, drive and pressure roller coatings
– Low maintenance requirement
– Few mechanical components and therefore minimal spare part requirement
– Small lubrication oil requirement

which means that separate setting is not required. The
fabric take-off rollers are also powered by a stepper
motor and this allows the smooth variation of weft density within a range of 80–60 picks per centimetre.
