FUNDRAISING NEWS
MARK AND ALYSHA’S DOWNLOAD LIST
We’ve had a very busy couple of months with our fundraising
events. At the beginning of May we had a Race Night at the centre,
it was a great night where people got to bet on horses and then we
watched the races on the big screen. We had Chilli and Jacket
Potatoes for dinner. The evening raised £280.
Well done and thanks to everyone who supported the evening.
We are looking at doing another one next year.
We are looking back over classic songs from June this month, going back
10 years at a time. Have a listen to the tracks and download them.
We have been very lucky receiving gifts with can use as prizes to
raise money for the Phoenix. Southampton FC have been very
generous the last few years always giving us tickets for trips
to the stadium and this year they gave us a signed shirt.
We had a raffle and it was drawn at our 4th Birthday.
The winner was James Hodson and we raised £282.
so a big thank you to everyone who brought a raffle ticket.
Finally we have been chosen by the Isle of Wight Festival as part of
their new charity initiative to have 2 full weekend tickets for this
years festival. We are doing a fun game where you have to guess
where on the picture our Phoenix is hiding. It’s £1 a go and all the
money goes to the charity, so have a go and who knows you could
be at the
festival seeing Blur, Fleetwood Mac, Pharrell Williams and over 300
acts over the 4 days. Good Luck.

PHOENIX 4TH BIRTHDAY PARTY
On Wednesday 27th May we celebrated our 4th Birthday Party.
The sun was shining and we all had a brilliant time. Jim was our
entertainment, he sang lot of party songs so lots of us had a dance.
Andrew Skinner also performed on the keyboard, We had Jacket
potatoes for lunch and ice cream from the ice cream van for
dessert. It was a brilliant day.
We are Looking forward to next year already!
I LIKE DRIVING IN MY CAR
On Saturday 23rd May a group of service users got a fantastic
opportunity to drive a car. John Marsh and his friends who are all
driving instructors taught the service users the basics of learning
how to drive a car. The cars have dual control so they the instructor
can also control the brakes and accelerator.
Below are some pictures of the morning.
We are hoping to make this an annual event.
HISTORY FUN
The last two weeks of the history
group we learnt all about the
Victorians and also about the first
World War. The Victorians was
very interesting we got to see and
use things used in the Victorian
times, including a kettle and a
washing machine!
For the first world war we looked
at uniforms and found out about
life in the trenches. I would not
have liked to have had to spend
time in the trenches, they were
very scary.
We want to say thanks to Lisa for
a great time, teaching us all about
the different parts of history and
we hope you have enjoyed
reading about them.
Carole and Michael.
