Planet Research Project

Planet Research Project
You will be creating a brochure, text book page, or flip book to showcase your research. You may
choose any of the 8 main planets or a dwarf planet in our solar system. You may use the
computer or hand-create your project, but you must bring a hard copy with you to class on the due
date. You MUST include a list of references with your project. DO NOT COPY AND PASTE
FROM THE INTERNET OR OTHER SOURCES!

Here is a list of questions to help you in your research. This is a BASIC list of information I expect
to be able to see in your project. If you find other information you would like to include in your
research, please do so! You should use a variety of sources including books, internet, newspaper
or magazine articles, or videos.
Is it a gas giant or a rocky terrestrial?
What color does it appear?
What is its temperature?
How far is it from the sun?
How did it get its name?
Who discovered it and when?
What is its diameter?
How long does it take to rotate on its axis (one day on your planet)?
How long does it take to orbit around the sun (one year on your planet)?
How much would you weigh on this planet?
