Introduction
This collection comprises of academic exercises by undergraduates and graduates of Universiti Brunei Darussalam.
There are also theses written by Bruneians studied abroad
and locally as well as theses by foreign researcher or author on or about Brunei Darussalam.
This Theses or theses or Dissertations are a primary
sources of information on Brunei and they form the core
materials in the Brunei Studies Collection. Its located on
the third (3rd) Floor of the Universiti Brunei Darussalam Library.
They cover all aspects of the Brunei life, researchers,
scholars, and area specialists will find this publication extremely useful.
Find a Thesis
Theses collection can be searched using or via eClik
(Online Public Access Catalogue) for Author, Title, and
Item code (Call No). The item code for theses collection at
Universiti Brunei Darussalam Library is KTes (this will
show you a long list of the library theses collection).

Theses Holding
Print Theses
The UBD Library has over 4,880 titles dating from 1969 to
the present, and constitutes an invaluable research resource. The UBD theses started from 1989, from the first
UBD’s undergraduate intake.
Digital Theses
Currently the digital version of theses cover only the higher
degree theses (Masters and PhDs). To date there are about
493 titles can be read online which accessible via the UBD
Library portal (DiLibrary).
We are indebted to all those who have willingly deposited
copies of their theses and dissertations to the UBD Library
for the use and benefit of other Bruneians and researchers.
Borrowing Theses
This collection is a closed access, not available for loan but
can be borrow and read in the library only. PhD Theses can
be accessed only under supervision.
To borrow the theses collection, you are required to fill in the
“Item Request Form” and hand in your Student ID or ID
card to the librarian at the counter. The ID card will be retained at the counter until all items are returned.
Only three (3) items may be consulted at any one time and
are limited to three (3) hours use. Fine will apply after that
time. Renewal is not allowed when item is requested by other users.
Photocopying and Copyright
Although photocopying of ten percent (10%) of the book is
permitted but all users are strongly advised to observe the
Copyright Law of Brunei Darussalam. No photocopy is allowed for PhD thesis. Any works photocopied or reproduced
is not to be used for any purpose other than private study, or
research or you may be liable for copyright infringement.
Also, no quotation, especially from theses may be published
without proper acknowledgement.
