Basics
Zero Gravity Basics Class introduces you to your new dance partner, the use of the aerial hammock. You’ll be familiarised
with the principles of using the plumb line as well as hammock tension to increase your kinaesthetic awareness, flexibility and
overall strength and agility. You’ll be taken through some of the fundamental moves that typically free your body from tension,
decompress your entire spine and leave you feeling fantastic!

In this class you will experience going ‘upside down’ in a number of positions with the support and comfort of the hammock.
These ‘inversions’ decompress and hydrate your vertebral discs creating space by realigning your spine. They also refresh
your digestive, lymphatic and circulatory systems and provide fresh blood to capillaries in your face which enhance your skin
and complexion! Inversions release ‘serotonin’, our happy hormone, which is why a lot of laughter can often be heard coming
from a Zero Gravity class! If you have a fear of going upside down, this class is for you! It is possible! This class is suitable for
all levels.

Suspended in your hammock, you’ll find total ease, comfort and a sense of weightlessness in space, making internalisation
and mediation easy. Enjoy the support, enhanced freedom and comfort of the hammock while you move through some
simple, flowing moves that dissolve tension and ‘open up’ your body! Then, be guided into stillness! This is the perfect place
to relax, calm your body & mind. If you have a busy life, juggling many balls at once, or if your occupation is stressful, here is
an enjoyable, easy and very doable way to de-stress and de-clutter your mind for greater peace and mental clarity. Beginners
are absolutely welcome!

If you want to tone your midline and build your core strength try a reverse sit up suspended upside down in the ZG hammock!
You’ll experience the joy of moving through open space with freedom using the support and momentum of the hammock.
You’ll also test, develop and expand the limits of your ability to ‘trust’ and ‘let go’. These classes are a great, low impact
cardiovascular workout with an emphasis on correct lower abdominal recruitment and control. At the same time you’ll have
some guided fun playing with aerial skills.

WHAT IS ZERO GRAVITY?
WHY THE HAMMOCK?
Zero Gravity is a fitness technique that uses a ‘hammock’ – (a structural fabric) to get
you into shape while releasing you from the compression of gravity. as we age, our
joints tighten if not carefully lubricated and massaged. Zero Gravity reverses the aging
process by keeping the spine flexible. It is a great cross training technique that will make
an athlete faster and a dancer more versatile, providing them with that extra competitive
edge. In every class you will increase muscular flexibility and decrease muscular tension,
strengthen and tone your upper body and core, fine tune your kinesthetic awareness and
agility as well as improve your self esteem and confidence by conquering basic fears
such as going upside down!
The hammock acts as a soft trapeze that supports and aids our movements in motion.
With the aid of the hammock we are able to master simple suspension techniques that
lead to more challenging moves. The ‘trust’ we have to instill in the hammock allows us
to challenge the laws of physics, enhance self-esteem and conquer our basic fears.

much like a swing that changes your dynamic relationship to the ground.

OUR CLASSES:
Our classes are all an hour long and themed to allow you to focus on execution,
technique as well as safety so that you gain the most rewards from your session. All
classes will take you through a warm up and cool down as well as working more closely
on specific areas as described below. Your safety is our priority so rest assured we will
not rush you and will take you through the process step by step. All of our classes are
suitable for all levels.
