Play tic-tac-toe by writing the sight word “of” on the board when it is your turn instead of an “X” or an “O”. Find the sight word “here” in the book, What Lives Here? (in your book bag). Try to put your sight word cards in alphabetical order while you read them. *Challenge- Write 1-2 sentences using your new sight word. Library Tomorrow Week 30 Apr.13th - 17th Word Family -ig Sight Word little Write at least 3 words from the –ig family. Choose one word and write a sentence using that word. Illustrate your sentence. *Challenge- Write and illustrate a sentence for each word you wrote. Library Tomorrow Week 31 Apr.20th – 24th Word Family -ug Sight Word find Read a book and write down how many times you find a magic ‘e’ word (i.e. make, cake, bake etc.) *Challenge- Write 2 sentences using a magic ‘e’ word in each sentence. Now, make a set of 2 more than 10. How many are in your new set? Repeat the process making a set of 2 less than 10. *Challenge- Write a sentence comparing the sets you made. Solve this word problem: Kate had 9 grapes. She shared and gave 2 of them to her brother. How many grapes does she have left? Choose how you want to solve it (number line, draw a picture, fingers etc.) Be sure to write down the number sentence and the answer. Thu. Draw a picture with 5 different living ond nonliving things in it. How many of them are living? How many are nonliving? *Challenge- Write a sentence about one of the living things in your picture and a sentence about one of the nonliving things. What do you want to be when you grow up? Draw a picture of yourself performing your dream job. Label your illustration. *Challenge- Write about what the best part of your future job will be. What are the basic needs of plants? Us any sheet of paper to illustrate and label them. *Challenge- Write sentences explaining your picture. *Challenge- Write your own word problem and solve it. Week 32 Apr.27th– May.1st Word Family -op Sight Word over, under Write a short 2-3 sentence story using words that end in –op. *ChallengeWrite down as many words that end in –op. Library Tomorrow Practice finding the sight word “find” in the book: “Find It” (in your book bag). Practice sight words by writing them in shaving cream, sand, salt, or dirt. Have fun! *Challenge- Write a sentence using the sight word “find.” Illustrate your sentence and label the details in your picture. (ex. sun, tree etc.) Solve the word problem with a number line. Cassie has 7 flowers. Her mom gives her 2 more. How many flowers does Cassie have now? *Challenge- Solve the problem. Caitlin has 10 jelly beans some are blue and some are pink. How many blue and pink jelly beans does Caitlin have? Please read with your child for at least 15 minutes every night Write two sentences using the words over and under. *Challenge- Think about a friend in your class. Write them a letter about why they are a good friend.
