Stands of oak, mesquite, and juniper are interrupted by clumps of bunchgrass. Numerous rivers and streams, including the upper reaches of the Colorado and the Brazos, crisscross rolling hills and plains. Although Taylor County and the Cities of Abilene in Taylor and Jones County and Brownwood in Brown County are not participating in the Plan, they are included to provide a more comprehensive overview.
