WIDECOMBE PRIMARY NEWSLETTER No. 3 18th September 2015 Upper Dart Lantern Making Workshop On Wednesday, Andrew Bailey and Emma ran a lantern making workshop as part of this year’s Lantern walk. The class had lots of fun and were extremely creative with their designs and poetry. Andrew hopes that you might be able to join him on 10th October at Pullabrook Wood where there will be workshops during the day and a lantern walk in the evening. Drumming lessons Alex Chew, our drumming instructor, gave an inspiring demonstration in our assembly on Monday. If your child would like drumming lessons, you can collect a registration from reception which has information on fees. Alex also provides private lessons at home. Guitar Lessons Andrew Crawford comes into school to teach guitar on Tuesdays and has some spaces available if your child is interested in taking lessons. Clubs Next Week There will be no DT club this Monday due to staff training. However, Abi will still be running the Library club. Fluffy visitors This Week’s Learning Superheroes Thanks to Langdon and Alesha for bringing in their ducklings. They were very well behaved- and so were the ducks! Congratulations to:- Baselitz Living Word Library Jonah The Living Word library is open again next Monday lunchtime and runs every fortnight. The library has a collection of Christian books for children to take home and read. Jack ParentPay We are going to be moving over to the ParentPay system very soon and will be sending out activation letters next week so that you can start to set up your online accounts. Please make payments as usual for school dinners, menus are attached today. After this three week cycle of menus we will move over to payments via ParentPay. You will notice that there is a Gift Aid box to tick on the sponsorship form. Friends have registered to claim Gift Aid back on donations and sponsorship received. As a result we can reclaim 25p of tax on every £1 that you give. If you or any other sponsors tick the box headed 'Gift Aid' on the Fun Run sponsorship form you must be a UK Income or Capital Gains Tax payer and must pay an amount of Tax in the tax year at least equal to the amount of tax that all the charities you donate to will reclaim on your gifts for that tax year.
