commitment to support transatlantic economic exchanges by co-organizing the presentation of the new
French Customs Clearance Plan in Paris on March 1st 2016.
“With US companies creating 600 000 jobs in France and French exports to the US up to 19.5% in 2015,
customs clearance is particularly of interest for AmCham” stated Caroline Ryan, Managing Director
AmCham France. “Our role is to support initiatives aiming at fostering the competitiveness of the French
and American markets. The French Customs Clearance plan is clearly part of it”.
Hélène Guillemet, Deputy Director for International Trade and Serge Puccetti, Communications Director
at the French Customs, presented the 40 measures aiming at simplifying and optimizing customs
formalities. “The plan will save time and money to businesses, and crucially, will provide one point of
contact for those businesses who want to export.” The plan will be implemented on May 1st 2016
alongside the Union Customs Code.
The plan was warmly welcomed by the companies present, including AmCham members FedEx and
Dow. Brigitte Iconomoff, Manager Customs Regulatory Affairs & Clearance Solutions emphasized that
