From the Governor
From THE SENIOR REGENT
Our lodge was one of 124 lodges (and over 1,500 total
lodges) recently approved to receive grant money from
Moose International! We were awarded $14,400, which
will help cut the total cost of new flooring in both the Social
Quarters and Hall. Work will occur in March and April
2017 and must be completed by the end of June. Other
improvements include interior cleaning and fresh paint.
We will be holding the first ever Gun Raffle on January
21, 2017. Tickets will go on sale mid-November. Stay
tuned to our website for more information as it becomes
available.
The Board of Officers voted to increase Wed./Thurs. Lite
Meals to $7, effective Nov. 1. Meals have been $5 for the
past 15 years! The increase in cost of all products have
been absorbed for many years and it was time to raise the
price to cover expenses.
Don’t forget all of the great functions coming up the next
several months. Come out and support your Lodge!
The Board of Officers would like to wish all of our members a Happy Holiday Season.
Please join us on Sunday, November 13th at 1 p.m. for
our Green Cap Ceremony honoring Past Senior Regent
Mary Hornyak and her accomplishments during her term.
A special thanks to Linda Hoffman and Jim Dukeshire for
their hard work and organizing an amazing bus trip to
Schedel Gardens, Chateau Tebeau Winery, Cheese Haven and Mon Ami Winery in September. A spectacular
time was had by all!
I look forward to seeing you at the many events that are
scheduled in the upcoming months! I wish all of you a
safe and joyful Holiday Season.

SUMMER JAM
This years Summer Jam held in September had
the largest attendance since the events’ conception in 2004! Great
success! The weather was perfect, entertainment was great, food
was delicious and the beer was cold. Thank you to the host band
Thunder Road, The Growling Chihuahuas, I Got A Phone Call, 2
Hour Delay, Bob Wurst, East River Drive and to DJ’s Larry and Charmaine Hill. Committee heads Bob Whalen and Jack Meyers did a
phenomenal job organizing all the volunteers and keeping track of
everything throughout the day. Thank you to Dave Miller for providing his homemade potato salad and The Dressel Family for their
tasty fresh-squeezed lemonade! A heartfelt thank you to all the volunteers at the grill, the admissions gate, security, ticket sellers, bartenders in the back hall, and t-shirt sellers. This event was so successful because of your help!
Sincerely, Legion President Michael P. Smith & Bob Whalen, Co-Chairs
