Seven Sisters Celebrates 6 Years of Quilting!
On January 11, 2010, Seven
Sisters set out a platter of homemade cookies and a pot of
coffee. Then they opened their
doors for business for the very
first time. Word spread quickly,
and very soon, quilters were
traveling from all over Michigan
and the neighboring states. The
quilt shop became quite a busy
little place. Six full years later, the
quilt shop remains everyone’s
favorite place to be. Quilters have
come to count on the fine fabric
selection and friendly staff.
Cookies and coffee became a
tradition, adding to the quilt
shop’s coziness and sweet charm.
Come
Celebrate!

Julia’s Journal
January/February 2016
I made this bread at school with my whole class.
We each made a loaf to bring home and my teacher
made one for us to eat at school. I must say that
my teacher’s loaf tasted the best!
I brought mine home and my mom said it was sweet and
tasty like a giant doughnut! Hmm, I wonder if that extra
scoop of sugar was just a little bit too much!
Anyway, everyone liked it so much they all asked me to
bring home the recipe.
I hope your family will
1 1/2 Tablespoon sugar
enjoy making and
1 Tablespoon butter
eating this bread!
1/2 cup milk
3 cups flour
Julia age: 11
In large bowl, add the warm water. Slowly stir in the dry yeast. Continue to stir until the yeast is dissolved.
Add salt, sugar, butter and milk to the bowl. Stir. Mix in the first 2 cups of flour. If needed, begin adding more flour, one tablespoon at a time,
until the dough chases the spoon around the bowl. Turn dough out onto a floured board and knead, adding small spoonfuls as needed, until the dough
is soft and smooth, not sticky to the touch. Put dough in a greased or buttered bowl. Turn the dough over so that the top of the dough is greased.
Cover and let rise in a warm spot for one hour. Punch down dough. Turn out onto floured board and knead. Preheat oven at 375°.
Form dough into a loaf and set in buttered bread pan. Cover and let rise for about 30 minutes. Put in oven and bake for about 45 minutes or until
golden brown. Peel a stick of butter and rub it on top of the hot loaf. Share it with all the people you love!

PARKING at Seven Sisters Quilt Shop
The parking lot on the East side of Seven Sisters Schoolhouse belongs to the American
Legion and is not available to Seven Sisters customers. However, there is roadside parking
on both the West and North sides of the Schoolhouse. Whether you are heading into the
quilt shop or the schoolhouse, there is plenty of parking space available in Seven Sister’s
parking lot. On extra busy days when parking is scarce, don’t forget that the Post Office
has a public parking lot directly across the road from the quilt shop.
Thank you!
