STUDENT PARKING PERMIT APPLICATION 2016-2017
Any junior or senior at Ocean Lakes High School who wishes to park a vehicle on school grounds during school hours must
complete this application, have it approved by school administration, and purchase a decal for $45. The student must
present a valid driver’s license and vehicle registration when purchasing a decal. At the time of purchase, a numbered
parking space will be assigned to the student. Spaces are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis and only the assigned
student/vehicle may occupy the space.

OLHS PARKING REGULATIONS:
1.
All vehicles parked on school grounds must be registered with the school and must display a valid decal affixed to the driver’s side
bumper of the vehicle or securely taped on the inside back window (driver’s side). Parking decals are not transferable to another
student or vehicle.
2. Replacement decals are available for acceptable reasons (vehicle was wrecked, sold, etc.). However, the student must return the
original decal whole or in pieces to receive a free replacement. Without the original decal, there is a $45 replacement fee.
3. Any decal found attached to a vehicle for which it was not issued will be revoked. No refunds will be issued for revoked decals.
Additionally, the vehicle will be booted and fines will apply. If the student is temporarily driving another vehicle, he or she must
pick up a day pass from Mr. Imbriale or Ms. Jellig in the main office. This temporary pass must be displayed on the vehicle’s
dashboard. Day passes will note the date and student decal number.
4. All drivers and vehicles must be licensed and insured. Ocean Lakes High School is not responsible for loss or damage resulting from
driving or parking on school grounds.
5. Students are prohibited from loitering in the student parking lot. There is NO SMOKING permitted anywhere on school grounds.
6. The speed limit on school grounds is 10 mph. Students are expected to follow traffic signs and the directions of school security.
Students may be issued citations by Virginia Beach Police for improper or reckless driving. Disciplinary action may also be taken by
school administration for reckless driving. Decals can be suspended without refund on the first offense of reckless driving.
7. Student vehicles may be subject to search if there is reasonable suspicion that drugs, alcohol, stolen property, or other contraband
might be present in the vehicle.
8. Parking regulations will be strictly enforced. Tire locks are used to immobilize vehicles violating parking rules. Once a tire lock is
applied, there is a $25 fee for its removal. There may be additional fees assessed for any damage to the tire lock.
9. Absences or tardiness due to traffic, accidents, or vehicle breakdowns are UNEXCUSED. Parking decals may be suspended as
determined by administration for tardiness, attendance issues, or disciplinary issues. No refunds will be given for revoked
decals.
10. Applications containing false information will result in denial or revocation of parking privileges.
I hereby grant permission for the applicant to drive the above identified vehicle to school. If this application is
not approved, or if parking privileges are revoked, I agree that the vehicle will not be parked on school grounds. I
fully understand and will abide by the regulations that govern driving and parking at Ocean Lakes High School.
