THIS SL]IVÍWIER. . .
TFIE WIAI<IPOSA NOTES IATELCOIVÍES
YOLI TO THE WIAI<IPOSA FESTIVAL
h4ariposa
celebrates its twenty-
ninth year of promoting folk arts in
Southern Ontario with ihis, our sixth
festival at Molson Park, Barrie. While
many of us are too young to remember
the summer of 7967, a lot of history has
passed under the Mariposa Bridge since
that first folk festival in Orillia.
The Mariposa Notes, the official
newsletter of the Mariposa Folk
Foundation, will help celebrate the
completion of our third decade with
special articles about Mariposa's past,
present and future. As well, The Notes
will continue covering the greater Toronto
folk music scene with radio and club
listings, album reviews, regular feature
articles and tidöits of useful information.
The Mariposa Notes irave appeared over
the years in various forms but this current
volume has been going for almost two
years, published bi-monthly, five times a
year. It's mailed to our members as well
as media personalities, other folk
organizations and governmeñt bodies.
Free copies can be picked up around
Toronto in various clubs and stores but
disappear almost as quickly as they are
delivered. 2,500 copies is still not enough.
I hope you've had a chance to read a
copy. If you wish to see previous issues,
they'll be on display at the Info Booth.
Ask to have them mailed to your home.
