Pastoral Briefing – Monday 7 November 2016
Thought for the week – ‘Listening to the far off call of a world in distress, imploring aid in
the name of mankind, of national freedom and of world peace, they responded to the
appeal, and marched to the battlefields on land, sea and in the air’ the inscription on the
memorial to the battle of the Somme 1916
FTs spend 5 mins in TP facilitating reflection, discussion and debate amongst the students around the
presentation emailed by Mrs Ward. Student leadership opportunities are available on each table
Focus on the ‘Brilliant’ - news about students for students – please share the following

Tutors please ensure they write these experiences up in their Leadership Logs, following the examples at
the front, because these are the important skills and qualities they need to continue to develop to give that
self-assurance and competitive edge required in all aspects of life
