OUR MISSION...
is to provide students,
who come from low-income households, access to
a quality education from college preparatory,
non-public high schools.
We believe pairing students with a caring sponsor,
who provides financial support for tuition, and
a supportive mentor, who offers one-to-one
mentoring, results in a meaningful
impact on their lives.

the right zip codes – a quality
education must be available to all.
For 29 years, your
generous support has helped
Student Sponsor Partners (SSP)
close the education gap for
thousands of low-income, NYC
high school students.
At our Annual Founder’s
Dinner in April, we honored SSP’s
longtime partnership with
Goldman, Sachs & Co., the
recipient of the 2015 Founder’s
Award. We are grateful to the
Goldman Sachs Gives
donor-advised fund and 350 of
the firm’s employees who have
generously contributed $7MM
toward SSP.
Every school year, SSP
freshmen attend one of our
partner schools and are paired
with a mentor who will help guide
them through their critical high
school years. These new students
bring our current program to
over 1100 students.
On behalf of the Board of
Directors of SSP, I want to thank
all SSP sponsors, mentors, and
donors for your generosity.
Together with the dedicated SSP
staff and educators at our 23
schools, we are truly transforming
lives and the futures of thousands
of young people.
We are so proud of SSP’s
graduating Class of 2015. Of the
388 students, 96% were accepted to
the colleges and universities of their
choice, including New York
University, Fordham University,
several SUNY and CUNY schools,
Rutgers University, and Vassar
College.
This year has proven to be filled
with many new exciting developments. We have strengthened our
partnerships with our schools,
sponsoring firms, funders, sponsors,
and mentors. We are also proud that
we were selected to participate in
the acclaimed Morgan Stanley
Strategy Challenge. Their
recommendations supported the
expansion and effectiveness of our
College and Career Program, which
focuses on increasing postsecondary education outcomes for
SSP students.
In 2015, we formed a
Mentoring Advisory Council and
reconstructed SSP’s Leadership
Council, which resulted in essential
recommendations that enhanced
the SSP mentor experience.
Looking forward, we will
continue to grow our college and
career prep, readiness, and
persistence programs. We will
provide additional resources to
support mentors with forming
stronger relationships with their
mentees. Additionally, we will
offer a new online database for
our parents and students to help
them easily navigate the challenges
of high school and the college
application process.

2015 Sixteenth Annual Founder’s Dinner
was a great success raising over $2MM. The
event honored SSP’s longtime partnership with
Goldman, Sachs & Co., the recipient of the
2015 Founder’s Award. Guest speaker, legendary
Yankees pitcher Mariano Rivera, spoke about the
importance of supporting youth and education.
Robert Spencer, Managing Director of Goldman
Sachs and SSP alumnus, shared his inspiring
personal story about overcoming many obstacles
as a youth to become a successful investment
banker, due in part to the opportunity
to attend a quality school through
the SSP program. The evening also
highlighted the success of three
exemplary SSP senior students, the
recipients of the inaugural Peter M.
Flanigan Scholarship.
