MOJLC Monthly General Meeting – March 9th, 2017

Adam Drew calls meeting to order at 8:03pm
Adam thanks everyone for coming out and welcomes new people to
meeting. Minutes are approved from February.
Presidents Report – Adam reports all is on track at Drakesbrook.
Scoreboard is ordered and will be in by April. (paid for by donation from
Gividuan) Next big purchase will be a bounce back wall. Waiting on
Town budget to be approved for fencing to go up.
Fields will be good to go – letting the ground establish itself before
opening day. Will not be practiced on before then.
Adam runs Clinic for the young Boys/Girls – will finalize days and times
once the Drakesbrook schedule is complete. Registration will remain
open for Clinic. Will not turn anyone away.
Girls VP Report – Chris Baduini not in attendance, Sara Baduini gives
report – Girls Rules Interpretation Meeting was last Sunday, all coaches
attended. Practices going well, Coach Vivianne was able to attend 1st
Saturday practice to help out with new players and will be returning
when she can to help out.
Boys VP Report – Mike Elko not in attendance, Adam Drew reports –
Almost done finalizing the schedule. Once done it will go up on arbiter.
Secretary Reports – none
Treasurer Reports – Please contact Steve Linskey (Boys) and Maureen
Tahmoosh (Girls) for financial reports.
Steve Linskey does report the Club is being paid immediately with
registrations coming in, that is a good thing. Won’t have to dip in to
savings in March for any exspenses. Checks also coming in for
Tournament.
Director of Fields – Chris Walsh reports – He and Mike Elko will line
Turkey Brook and CMS for boys practices and games. Will leave
Drakesbrook alone until games start and let fields cultivate. He will be
getting field markers to help line fields and the Club will be purchasing
a new paint sprayer.
Director of Equipment – Jim Carroll reports the uniform order is in to
Universal. Girls uniforms should be in a week before their first game. All
teams will have 2 spare jerseys as back up. Team Gear is now open
again on the website for Spirit Wear until March 12th.
Jim will also be ordering another game clock, possible 2.
Director of Tournament – Claude Mitchell not in attendance – Adam
reports – all is on track. There will be one more Board only meeting
next week before tournament meetings with the general membership.
Only 3 spots remain open for Boys teams and 7 on Girls side. Email will
go out for volunteering.
Director of Fundraising – Sue Meo unable to attend – Adam reports – .
Tournament will be our biggest fundraiser with restaurant dining
serving as fundraisers as well. Sue Meo has been working very hard and
been very creative - Das Creamery in Budd Lake will create an MOJLC
special flavor ice cream and come sell it at games.
We will be selling car magnets, umbrellas and special shirts for Boys
and Girls at concessions. Packaged food items will also be available at
concessions. All items we sell will be cash or credit. Bulk of clothing will
only be available online through Spirit Wear sale.
Director of Membership – Rob Bednarik reports – Registration is now
officially closed with the exception of the Clinic. Total in the program
this year is 208. 71 one of those are new players. That’s great!
2/3 Boys – 17, 4/5 Boys- 24, 6th Boys- 21, 7th Boys- 22, 8th Boys- 20
3rd/4th Girls- 21, 5/6 Girls- 21 7/8 Girls- 35
Clinic – 30 players
The new registration system was a huge success – we have set the
trend for other sports teams in town.
Rob will be setting up and sending in our US Lacrosse membership. All
memberships will automatically be renewed by March 31st.
Director of Communications –Adele reports any coaches with updates
should send them to her and she will get them on the website. Boys
program please send in pictures for the FB page as she has a daughter
and only gets pictures at Girls games.
Old Business – none
New Business – Board is looking to make 2 changes to the current
MOJLC By-Laws.
1. Consolidate the Board positions of Boys and Girls Treasurers and
Boys and Girls Secretaries to one Club Secretary and one Club
Treasurer.
2. Allow members of the MOJLC Board to hold positions on other
Sports Boards in town. At this time, we do not allow Board
members to sit on other Sports Boards within the town.
The motion was read at the meeting and will be read again at the
April meeting. Eligible voting members will vote at the April meeting
to make these changes to the By-Laws. Members must have been
present at 50% (4) general membership meetings since last
September, 2016 to be eligible to vote.
