Life Map Program Overview by Amethyst Mahoney

Life Map Program Overview
by Amethyst Mahoney
* Do you feel overwhelmed by all of life’s choices?
* Do you feel like you are being pulled in a ton of different
directions, and you don’t know which way to go?
* Are others placing so many demands on you that you barely have
time to take care of everyone else, and no time to take care of
yourself?
It’s time to get clear. Break free. Find your Path.
This year I’ll be unveiling a system that I’ve been using for a long
time to set my goals and move my life forward in a positive
direction – the Life Map Program.
This program will help you move your life forward in a positive
direction ~ in every area of your life.
The problem most people have with setting goals of doing positive
affirmations is that they generally only concentrate on one area
of their lives.
In the Life Map Program, you will learn to set goals in ALL areas
of your life. Every 4-6 weeks, you’ll discover a new area to focus
on. This doesn’t mean you’ll drop the other areas; it just means
that you will shift focus a little for the month while learning to
incorporate all of your goals in all areas.
This may seem tricky at first, but with practice, patience, and a
little bit of effort, you’ll get there.
The areas of the Life Map Program include:
* Health, Nutrition, and Exercise
* Love Relationships
* Career and Business
* Friends and Family
* Money and Finances
* School, Training, and Personal Development
* Spirituality and Religion
We’ll be looking at different techniques and exercises that you
can use to enhance your life in each of these areas.
My favorite technique, of course, is the Tarot. The Tarot is a
deck of illustrated picture cards that cover every aspect of your
life. Pictures are used to convey a variety of feelings, emotions,
and meanings in an instant ~ much more quickly and effectively
than words will ever be able to do.
Some people don’t think that the Tarot can be that effective, or
that pictures aren’t that useful. However, I’d like you to think
back to some of the most impactful memories in your life. Most
likely, you’ll “see” them visually in your mind.
Collectively, we all are impacted by and remember major paintings
and pictures. Look at the following pictures and notice what you
think, how you feel, and even what you smell or hear when you look
at them:
Taken one at a time, each of these pictures will evoke different
emotions and reactions. Furthermore, what one person sees or
feels because of a picture might be completely different than
how another person sees or feels about that same picture.
This is part of the power of Tarot. The other power of Tarot
comes from the fact that each card incorporates powerful
symbols and meanings that evoke a variety of responses ~ some
of which are said to lay in our collective consciousness.
No matter what country you are from, where you were raised, or
what socioeconomic level you currently reside in, you will be
familiar with these symbols.
Your take on the symbols may be slightly different than someone
else’s, but you will still know what the symbol is and several
different meanings behind the symbol.
For example, let’s look at a very common symbol that plays a
special role in many areas throughout our lives and the Tarot:
“A rose by any other name would smell as sweet.”
“Every rose has its thorn.”
Each of these two very-well known sayings have quite different
meanings! In the United States, many men are pushed by the
media to buy their girlfriends or wives roses, especially a dozen
roses, and especially for holidays such as anniversaries and
Valentine’s Day. Personally, I have always found this practice
terribly ridiculous ~ why would I want my husband to give me
something that society tells him I should want? This is as bad as
buying a diamond engagement ring! No, thank you.
However, my husband likes roses, and believes that they are a
symbol of love. So we reached a compromise ~ one year I planted
rose bushes around our front porch so that he can have them. I,
however, could care less for them. I see the thorns and don’t
even care much for the shape of the flower. Tulips are more my
style, at least at this point in my life. I actually prefer
wildflowers growing in fields. ☺
This is why you will want to explore for different things that
catch your eye in the Tarot cards or in pictures that you see.
What do you think about the symbols? How do you feel about
what you are told by your society or situations you have
experienced that you “should” feel? How do you REALLY feel?
You can sit for a moment with a symbol such as the rose, take a
few deep, cleansing breaths, and really explore the idea with the
question at hand. This is just one way we will explore each area of
our life through The Life Map Program.
If you would like to know more about the Tarot, check out my
free ebook “Beginner’s Guide to Reading Tarot and Learning the
Cards” at:
http://amethysttarot.com/wpcontent/uploads/2011/09/BeginnerEBook.pdf
That ebook will explain more about the illustrated cards called
Tarot, how they are not evil or just used for Divination (what you
see in the movies and on tv shows is so NOT the norm), and how
to choose your first deck. It will also give you a great site to go
to where you can research and explore decks, and decide which
pictures you might like to work with.
If you don’t want to use Tarot cards, or you don’t want to buy a
deck at this time, we will also explore the Life Map Program in a
variety of other ways.
Other exercises may include guided visualizations or meditations,
word association, movement exercises, or writing exercises.
Each exercise will attempt to help you connect to an area of your
life more fully, to help you really get to know yourself, and to
remember who you really are.
I hope you are ready to take this journey with me throughout
2012. I can’t wait to help guide you back to meet your Self.

PS: Below you will find a little illustration about what areas the
Life Map Program will cover. A lot of people like this illustration,
and print it out to make notes on.
Some people, especially men, do not like this illustration at all. I
have been told even by women that it is “too cutesy.” I use it
because I believe that getting back to ourselves is a journey that
must be taken playfully, in a child-like manner (without
preconceived ideas or prejudices), and that is what this
illustration means to me.
When you can find the fun in your life, perhaps you will start to
like the illustration? For now, just think of it as your inner child.
If you would like a male or androgynous inner child, then feel free
to create your own picture or collage that better represents
that.
The whole idea of this program is to explore what you like, what
you don’t like, and learn to honor who you really are. ☺
