ReadingRoominthegroundflooroftheGalleryat18West86Street,NewYorkCity.
Wendy’sSubwayReadingRoomatBardGraduateCenterwillpromoteengagementwith
artists’books,periodicals,andotherpublicationsselectedfortheirrelationshiptothespring
exhibitionsandpublicprogramming.Aseriesofreadingsandwritingworkshopsthatgather
togethersomeoftheboldestvoicesfrompoetry,literature,andperformancewillaccompanythe
installation.Overthecourseoftheinstallation,visitorsareinvitedtodropoffbookstheywould
likeincludedintheReadingRoom.Admissiontothereadingroomisfree,asisthewifi.Itwillbe
openduringallpublichours.Booksuggestionsmayalsobeofferedviaafeedbackboxinthe
Gallery.
Over the course of their residency with us Wendy’s Subway will be seeking submissions for an
upcoming publication, which will address the potential of ritual under capital. A call for submissions

Subwayhostsarangeofpublicprograms,includingreadingsandscreenings,interdisciplinary
talksandlectures,discussionandreadinggroups,andwritingworkshops.Thenon‐circulating
libraryholdsacollectionofbooksand
documentswithaspecialfocusonpoetry,
art,theory,andphilosophy,aswellasthe
LaurinRaikenArchive,anextensiveresource
forthestudyofarthistoryandcriticism.
Wendy’sSubwayisoperatedbyits
membershipofpoets,curators,novelists,
artists,andcriticswithaninterestinhybrid
formsandcross‐disciplinarydiscourse.
