Letter to a Nova Scotia Sport Hall of Fame Inductee
(Grades 6-8)
Students will write a letter to a Future Hall of Famer or a Nova Scotia Sport Hall of Fame
Inductee based on one of the following experiences:

Their interaction with an Inductee or Future Hall of Famer at the museum or at school
A presentation at school from the NSSHF
Their exploration of the online database
Teachers may decide to have all of the students in the class individually choose the recipient of
their letter or have students write their letters to the same recipient.
The class will have the opportunity to submit their letters to the NSSHF. Depending on the
letter recipient, the NSSHF will attempt to deliver the letter(s) to the Inductee or Future Hall of
Famer.
A sample rubric and graphic organizer are included.

Choose an Inductee or Future Hall of Famer from the Nova Scotia Sport
Hall of Fame. You may choose someone you learned about during your
visit to the museum, someone who visited your school for a
presentation, or someone from the online database. Perhaps it is
someone who inspired you, motivated you, or someone you would like
to learn more about.
Your letter should have an introduction, a body made up of three
paragraphs, and a conclusion. Use the following graphic organizer to
help organize your thoughts.
