This is done to ensure the integrity of the system. *********************************************************************************** Choreography 2.doc Choreography at the Jamestown Settlement The official motorcade at the arrival will include The Queen, The Duke, and the British Ambassador and Lady Manning. Other VIPs will have arrived at the settlement in advance. Vice President and Mrs Cheney will greet The Queen and The Duke as they exit from their cars and escort them up to the fort. Other VIPs will be already pre-positioned in the fort for the arrival ceremony. Following the arrival ceremony, The Queen will enter three buildings in the reconstructed fort. Phil Emerson will guide. The Vice-President, Governor Kaine and The British Ambassador will accompany. After the ceremony, The Duke will walk down to the ships. Joe Guittierez will guide. Mrs Cheney, First Lady Ann Holton, Lady Manning and Alan Charlton will accompany. After the third building, Queen will proceed to the ships. Phil Emerson will guide. The Vice-President, Governor Kaine and The British Ambassador will accompany. The entire VIP party will reconvene at the pier for the unfurling of the flag and the firing of the cannon. Following this, all the VIPs will get in their cars to move to the settlement. (NB: The cars of those VIPs who will have arrived in advance at the settlement will need to be integrated into the motorcade for the transfer to the historic Jamestown site.) Choreography at Jamestown Island The motorcade will draw up in front of the entrance to the research centre. The VIP party will be met by Elizabeth Kostelny and Sandy Rives, who will introduce Bly Straube and Bill Kelso. Beverly Straube will escort The Queen into the achaearium. The Vice-President, Governor Kaine and The British Ambassador will accompany. Bill Kelso will escort The Duke into the vault. Mrs Cheney, First Lady Ann Holton, Lady Manning and Alan Charlton will accompany. Choreography 2.doc Following the tour of the achaearium and vault, Elizabeth Kostelny will accompany The Queen on her walkabout to the fort, introducing members of the lineage groups etc. The British Ambassador will accompany. Dr Kelso will escort The Duke on the walkabout to the fort, introducing groups etc. Alan Charlton will accompany. [Ann Berry will escort the remaining the Vice-President and Mrs Cheney on the walkabout.] TBC Dan Smith will escort Governor Kaine and First Lady Anne Holton on the walkabout. The walkabout will conclude with the British Jamestown Committee. The Ambassador will introduce The Queen to the members of the committee. Alan Charlton will introduce The Duke to the committee. Following the meeting with the British Committee, Bill Kelso will escort The Queen into the fort. Carter Hudgens will escort The Duke into the fort. The Ambassador and Alan will stay with the British Committee to introduce them to the Vice President and the Governor. The remainder of the VIPs (ie. Vice President, Governor, Ambassadors plus spouses) will enter the fort once The Queen has started to move towards the riverfront. They will be escorted by Ann Berry and Dan Smith. The rest of the VIPs will have a shortened version of the tour of the fort to allow them to enter the church in advance of The Queen and The Duke. The VIPs contingent, the British delegation, local officials and dignitaries and archaeologists on the site will be present in the church for the presentation of the gift of the chair. The British Ambassador will invite The Queen to make the presentation to the Governor. Following the presentation of the gift, The Queen, The Duke and the VIPs will make their way to their motorcade. Just before entering their car, the APVA and the National Park Service will make a small presentation to The Queen.
