* Add a bibliography at the end of the project.
Freedom is an oft repeated word. It is what we all crave for. In the novel “Uncle Tom’s
Cabin”, we learn about people who had to live their lives according to the wishes of others.
In this context, attempt the following:
a. Who were slaves and what work did they do? When and how did slavery begin? How
were these people treated? You may use research work to find out more about them.
Illustrate or stick pictures about the clothes they wore and the work they did. Mention when
slavery was finally abolished in America. (150 – 200 words)
b. Watch the movie or read the book ’Huckleberry Finn’. Choose two characters that you
liked. State why you liked them. Mention a similarity that you noticed with the novel ‘Uncle
Tom’s Cabin.’[150 words]
c. Mr. Shelby is an unusual master. Pick out a few sentences from the novel and describe
him. What makes him different from the others? Do you like his character? Why? (150
words]
d. Use the thesaurus and find synonyms for the words. Then use the words given to make
an interesting short story of your own. [150-200 words]
