ACTS, 1961. — C H A P S . 359, 360.

Hampden County Court House Loan, Act of 1961. Each authorized
issue shall constitute a separate loan, and such loans shall be payable
not more than ten years from their dates. The bonds or notes shall be
signed by the county treasurer and countersigned by a majority of the
county commissioners. The county may sell the said securities at public
or private sale, upon such terms and conditions as the county commissioners may deem proper, but not for less than their par value. Indebtedness incurred hereunder shall, except as herein provided, be subject
to chapter thirty-five of the General Laws. The county treasurer, with
the approval of the county commissioners, may issue temporary notes
of the county, payable in not more than one year from their date, in
anticipation of the issue of serial bonds or notes under this act, but the
time within which such serial bonds or notes shall become due and payable shall not, by reason of such temporary notes, be extended beyond
the time fixed by this act. Any notes issued in anticipation of the serial
bonds or notes shall be paid from the proceeds thereof.
SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon its passage.

Chap. 359.
A N ACT AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF WORCESTER TO CONVEY
A CERTAIN PARCEL OF PARK
IMPROVEMENT CLUB, INC.
LAND TO' T H E
EAST
SIDE
Be it enacted, etc., as follows:
SECTION 1. The city of Worcester, through its board of park commissioners is hereby authorized and directed to sell and convey to the
East Side Improvement Club, Inc. a certain parcel of land situated in
said city, being bounded and described as follows: — Beginning at a
point in the westerly line of Risso court at land now or formerly of
Margaret F. DeFalco; thence northerly by said westerly line of Risso
court 146 feet, more or less; thence westerly 113 feet, more or less;
thence southerly 162 feet, more or less by land now or formerly of
Houlihan, Manzi and others; thence easterly by said land of DeFalco
138 feet more or less to the point of beginning.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its acceptance by the
city council of the city of Worcester, in accordance with the provisions
of its charter, but not otherwise.

Chap. 360.
A N ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE TOWNS OF MAYNARD AND STOW
TO E N T E R I N T O A G R E E M E N T S CONCERNING W A T E R S U P P L Y .
Be it enacted, etc., as follows: '
SECTION 1. For the purpose of supplying the inhabitants of the
towns of Maynard and Stow with water, the town of Maynard, acting
through its board of public works, and the town of Stow, acting through
its board of selectmen, are hereby authorized to enter into an agreement or agreements concerning the investigation and study of ground
water resources within the town of Stow, including the manner in which
such study is to be conducted, the apportionment of the cost of such
investigation and study between said towns, and the acquisition and
the use of such resources, if it is determined by agreement of the two

boards that there is an adequate supply for the present and future needs
of both towns. If it is agreed that there is an adequate supply of water
for the present arid future needs of both towns, the towns, acting through
the two boards, are empowered to acquire and use such water sources,
provided that such acquisition and use shall be in such manner as both
boards may agree. The towns of Maynard and Stow are authorized,
for the purpose of conducting said study and investigation, to appropriate money, and to accept reimbursement from the commonwealth or
the federal government.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.

Chap. 361. A N ACT PROVIDING THAT THE WEST AND SOUTH WATER
S U P P L Y DISTRICT O F ACTON SHALL N O T U S E T H E T O W N O F
BOXBOROUGH AS A S O U R C E O F W A T E R S U P P L Y FOR A
P E R I O D OF O N E Y E A R .
Be it enacted, etc., as follows:
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any provision of chapter three hundred and twenty-six of the acts of nineteen hundred and twelve or any
act in amendment thereof to the contrary, the West and South Water
Supply District of Acton shall not use the town of Boxborough as a
source of water supply for a period of one year from the effective date
of this act.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.

A N ACT INCREASING THE SALARY OF THE CLERK OF THE
DISTRICT COURT O F M A R L B O R O U G H .
Be it enacted, etc., as follows:
SECTION 1. Paragraph (1) of section 79 of chapter 218 of the General
Laws is hereby amended by striking out, in line 15, as appearing in
section 1 of chapter 609 of the acts of 1959, the words "district court of
Marlborough," and by inserting after the word "Franklin,", in line 26,
the following line: — district court of Marlborough,.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect on July first, nineteen hundred
and sixty-one.

Chap. 363. A N ACT RELATIVE TO THE QUORUM FOR THE BOARD OF
REGISTRATION OF REAL ESTATE BROKERS AND SALESMEN,
AND FURTHER REGULATING THE PAYMENT OF LICENSE FEES.
Be it enacted, etc., as follows:
SECTION 1. Chapter 13 of the General Laws is hereby amended by
striking out section 55, inserted by section 1 of chapter 726 of the acts
of 1957, and inserting in place thereof the following section: •— Section 55.
The board shall hold at least four regular meetings each year and may
hold special meetings as required. Time, place and notice of all meetings
shall be as required by rules or by-laws made by the board. A quorum
