A Memo from Molly
“Call 911!”
You never think you’ll actually have to
respond to an emergency, but then it happens.
We were out eating as a family when we
noticed a woman choking. (Some may call it a
coincidence that we happen to be there and that
we ended up switching places—but I call it
divine intervention.)
The woman was standing and wheezing
as her husband tried to help her. My husband
jumped in and immediately began abdominal
thrusts.
Frozen to my seat, I said, “Let’s pray.”
My girls prayed with me as we helplessly
watched the scene. I must’ve been praying
loudly because the people across from us gave
me a funny look. I didn’t care and kept praying.
After a long minute in slow motion, the
woman started to cough. I took a deep breath
and scanned the room. Did anyone else realize
what had just happened and how precious life
really is?
My heart was pounding like a bass drum
as my husband sat back down at our table. I
asked, “Are you okay?”
“I’m fine,” he replied calmly.
I glanced through the window at the
woman, and couldn’t help but smile as she continued to finish her meal. Everything seemed to
carry on like normal.
We left the restaurant much more aware
of family and faith. The woman was a
stranger—names were never exchanged—yet
in the moment it didn’t matter. We are all People
of God.
Well, February really spoiled us with some
AMAZING weather! I am going to guess that
many of you were like me and decided spring was
finally here, but we were both wrong. Oh well,
soon enough all of this snow will melt and we
won’t have to worry about another snowstorm
until at least October! Yay!
Speaking of jumping ahead to the idea of nice
weather – it is extremely important that any of
you even considering our summer trips talk to me
immediately! We need exact numbers for our
summer trips so we can ensure we have enough
adults on the trips and to discuss if any additional
fundraising will be happening! Both Mission Trips
are currently “closed” to new additions, but
anyone interested can be on a wait-list in case a
spot opens up (chances are probably decent on
both trips). We could also use additional adults on
almost all of our trips, especially male chaperons,
so if you are interested or know of any people I
should contact, please pass that information on to
me!
Now on to Faith Formation – we missed one
Wednesday because of a snow day, but I have no
current plans to use our “make-up” day on some
of your calendars for the 7th-10th grade. If we
miss more Wednesday nights, we will consider
adding a class, but for now, we can remain on track
even with losing that one night.
“. . .there may be no division in the body, but
that the parts may have the same concern
for one another. If (one) part suffers, all the
parts suffer with it; if one part is honored,
all the parts share its joy.” (1 Cor 12, 25-26)
Finally, if you see Jennifer Petrowiak, please give
her a word of congratulations on being Confirmed
this month! Jenny will be gone on a school trip
over Confirmation on April 9th, so she will be
confirmed by the Bishop at the 5:30 PM Mass at St.
John’s Church in Mankato on March 12th.
Blessings, Tamarae

Prayer of the Month
Act of Contrition
My God, I am sorry for my sins with
all my heart. In choosing to do
wrong and failing to do good, I have sinned
against you whom I should love above all
things. I firmly intend, with your help, to do
penance, to sin no more,
and to avoid whatever leads me to sin.
Amen.
Act of Contrition (Traditional)
O my God, I’m heartily sorry for having
offended you. I detest all my sins
because of thy just punishment,
but most of all
because they offend you my God,
who art all good and deserving of all my love.
I firmly resolve with the help of thy grace
to sin no more,
and to avoid the near occasions of sin.
Amen.
