THE EXTRAORDINARY GRACES
OF DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY
According to the Diary of St. Maria Faustina Kowalska, Jesus Christ made a special promise, which she
was to communicate to the whole world.
My daughter, tell the whole world about My inconceivable mercy. I desire that the Feast of Mercy be a
refuge and shelter for all souls, and especially for
poor sinners. I pour out a whole ocean of graces upon those souls who approach the fount of My mercy.
(Diary, 699)
In her Diary, St. Faustina records a promise from Our
Lord of specific extraordinary graces He will make
available through the devout reception of Holy Communion on this Feast Day; truly a “whole ocean of
graces” is contained in these promises:
 A complete pardon to the souls that will go to
Confession and receive Holy Common on the
Feast of My mercy(1109).
 Whoever does so will obtain forgiveness of sins
and punishment (699)
The Divine Mercy Mass will be celebrated today at
3:00 PM.

Thank you to our parishioners and visitors
for their generous support of San Pablo.
Dear Parishioners:
Once again, Holy Week and Easter services were truly spiritual and inspiring experiences. There are so many people
who contributed to creating the atmosphere of prayer and
reverence. I thank each and everyone who helped prepare
and celebrate the Sacred Liturgies with such great solemnity and beauty.
I especially want to thank Fr. John Brundage, Fr. Ed Prus,
Deacon John Kirk, Paul Navara , Ray Myslakowski and the
San Pablo Choir, Jack Louden, Linda Byars, altar servers,
lectors, Eucharistic ministers, ushers, sacristans, the altar
flower ministry including: Nancy Arrowsmith, Jeannie
Platt, Stephanie Palmer, Jeri Mc Carty, Michelle Rocket,
Terry Walters and Toni Appell, also, the cleaners of the
church and linens. I thank their faith –filled and prayerful
participation. When we experience parishioners working
together in the Spirit of love and unity, we know that God
is truly present in our midst.
Easter Sunday, Bryan Jesus Blanco Garcia and Sophia
Maria Hutchins were baptized. We congratulate them as
well as our First Communion class. When people are baptized in the Name of the Father and The Son and the Holy
Spirit , and when they gather around the table of Christ and
receive His Body and Blood, they now have become the
People of God called His Holy Church.
Next Sunday, our young children will receive Jesus, the
Bread of Life, in Holy Communion for the first time. Jesus
gives Himself to us in the Eucharist as food and drink. By
offering us His Body and Blood Jesus offers us the most
intimate communion possible. It is divine communion
Congratulations to Aidan Gonzales, Aliyah Gonzalez,
Caris Sol Jimenez, Christopher Paul, David Ornelas,
Ella Dunn, Giovanni Senmartin, and Sophia Marie
Hutchins, who are entering a new close relationship with
Jesus in the Holy Eucharist next Sunday. May you and
your family look forward with great joy to receiving Jesus
in Holy Communion each Sunday at Mass.
A special thank you to Terry Walters for her dedication to
our young people and their families as our Director of Religious Education.
I also would like to thank all of the parents and grandparents of our recently baptized and first communion children
for their example and preparation of their children. May
God bless you for your spiritual guidance of these children.
Gratefully Yours in Christ,
Your Pastor,
Father Luis R. Rivera

JOINING THE COMPANY OF BELIEVERS
What will help you to believe? Today’s scripture
readings tell of faith and doubt. They offer stories
“recorded to help you believe,” as the passage from
John’s Gospel (20:31) remarks today. There is an urgency about this. On this Second Sunday of Easter we are
challenged to join the company of believers—countless
men and women who witnessed the power of the
apostles’ faith.
There is no doubt that this power comes from Jesus
Christ. The second reading, from the book of Revelation,
reports John’s mystical vision of the Son of Man, who
proclaims, “Once I was dead, but now I am alive forever
and ever.” (Revelation 1:18). The Gospel gathers everyone but Thomas to see the Risen Jesus and receive the
Holy Spirit from him. Like Thomas, we who have come
along later must have faith so that we can have life.
