MENACG GIhascommeenceditsopeerationsinJaanuary2015 withaone‐yyearpilotproject“Promoting Dialogue es” targeting g civil society y organizations in Tuniisia and Egy ypt. In the frramework o of this pilot inittiative, MEN NA CGI will first enhance the skillss of local ccivil society organizations in convenin nganddesign ningeffectiveecommunity yfacilitation anddialogueeprocesses. Inthefirstrround oftheacccreditedonlinedialogueffacilitationtrraining(Marrch–April,2015)offered dbySoliya,M MENA CGIhasaalreadyengag gedwithmorrethan16civilsocietyorrganizationsinTunisiaandEgypt. In additiion, MENA CGI will su upport locall organizatioons to implement com mmunity dialogue initiativesintheircom mmunities.M MENACGIwillalsoempooweracadem micfellowsto oexpandtheefield nally,MENAC CGIinpartneershipwithSSoliya ofconflictresolutionanddialogueeintheMENAregion.Fin willproduceanddissseminateaDiialogueFacillitationTrain ningManual inArabicin nordertoseccurea widerreaachandrepliicabilitythro oughouttherregion. About the Call MENA CG GI is launching a call forr small grantts targeting ccivil society organization ns in Tunisiaa and Egypt to design and implement dialogue prrojects on th he local and d national leevels. The ovverall nitiatives in their objective of the call is to support local orgaanizations too implementt dialogue in dialogueproocessesbyloccalcommuniitymemberss,civil communiities.Inordeertoraiseaccceptanceofd society,m mediaandloccalgovernmeents,projectsshouldinvoolvemultipleestakeholders. Projects funded in the framework of this call may focus on diverse topics of local importance including but not limited to peacebuilding and conflict resolution, countering violent extremism, civic participation, democratic transition, gender advocacy, sustainable development, and social entrepreneurship.Mostimportantly,projectsshouldfocusonpromotingandenhancingthequality ofdialoguewhiledemonstratinghowdialoguecanbeeffectivelyusedinaddressinglocal/national issues. Proposals should highlight innovation in the promotion of dialogue and mention the indicatorsoftheproject’ssuccessintheapplicationform. In addition to the financial grant, the awarded organizations in the framework of this call will receiveaspecializedtrainingworkshopondesigningdialogueprocesses. Grant Size Minimum:$5,000USD Maximum:$7,500USD Budgetaryremarks: a)Humanresourcesbudgetlineshouldbereasonableandproportionatetotheprojectactivities. b)Anoverhead/indirectcostisallowedupto7%ofthedirectcost. Duration Theimplementationperiodfortheprojectshouldbeminimum1monthandmaximum3months. Projectimplementationshouldstart1Juneandfinishby31Augustatthelatest. Eligibility ‐ ‐ ‐ ApplicantorganizationmustbealegalentityregisteredinTunisiaorEgypt. Proposalscouldbeforprojectsandinitiativestobeimplementedforthefirsttimeorforapre‐ existingandongoingprojectorinitiativethatmatchesthecallobjectives. Proposals should be complete and respect the designated templates. In case of incomplete proposals, false information, or using other templates, applications will be ineligible and excludedbytheMENACGIevaluationcommittee.
