Dear John,
On the one month anniversary of the opening of the new
Provincetown Theater, 1 would like to reflect on what you, and your
Augustus Construction teann, have built here.
Not just a building, you have created a home for the community of
theater. A home into which we have settled very comfortably . The
feedback from our resident companies has been very positive about
their "playhouse." And the appreciative audience response is the
greatest satisfaction of all. The ProvincetownTheater is a grand
place, simply elegant, and capable of making great magic.
On behalf of the Construction Implementation Committee of the
Board of Directors, Provincetown Theater Foundation, I would like
to express appreciation for your enormous dedication to this
project, and for its timely completion. Your contributions to this job
were far beyond any contract requirements. And your donations of
time and materials for the finish surfaces of the lobby and lounges
are most gratefully recognized.
As a regular visitor to the site, since we began just before last Labor
Day, 1 can give personal testimony to the strong sense of team spirit
and high-energy that was characteristic of your crew. And special
kudos to Jim Palmer. Though the roughest winter in a hundred
years, he kept this project on its very rigorous construction
schedule. He maintained an injury-free environment, and delivered
a square, solid, tight and very functional building.
We expect it will be a landmark two centuries from now.
With sincere appreciation.
