NECK SCULPTING Ageing can take its toll on the neck. Development of deep wrinkles, sagging skin and fatty deposits can give away age, even when the face above it looks much younger. In other cases, there is insufficient definition between the chin and neck, creating an unattractive look. But treatment needn’t involve a visit to the surgeon – regain a smoother look on the neck with our Neck Sculpting procedure. Neck sculpting mechanically stimulates collagen, which firms up the skin and enhances the contours of the neck. By doing this, we slow down the ageing process and tighten the loose skin that develops in the neck area. Anyone who is unhappy with the look of their neck could be a good candidate for neck sculpting, though it is not suitable for the treatment of very loose skin. The Treatment This non-surgical treatment is generally not uncomfortable. It is easy to administer and can be carried out in around an hour. First, the skin under the chin is carefully abraded and a fine gel is layered to cohere the area. Next, a transparent adhesive dressing is applied to the skin and left in place for 24 hours. The following day the dressing is removed. There is very little discomfort and generally there are no marks left after the treatment. As with any procedure, there may be some bruising but this is rare. Following Treatment You may notice some fluid retention in the treated areas. This is quite normal and settles in a few days. To give your skin the best possible chance of achieving its true potential from the procedure, rejuvenating cream, which is supplied, should be applied onto the skin of the neck each day. Botox injections to the neck bands may also be administered as a separate treatment to further enhance the result.
