PARENT POWER CORNER
Talk about experiences. While you’re on an outing,
talk to your children about what they see. These
discussions will build a good vocabulary and
enhance children’s understanding of concepts. Ask
questions that inspire creative or critical
thinking. For example, “Why do elephants have
trunks?” or “What makes trees grow?” By doing so,
you help to stimulate their curiosity—a necessary
factor in successful reading.
“Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its
ability to climb a tree it will live its whole life
believing that it is stupid.” – Albert Einstein
