Subject: Raisins Price announcement from Fairtrade International Standards Unit
Dear partners,
The Standards Unit has decided on new Fairtrade Minimum Prices and Premiums for raisins from
Central Asia.
These new prices and premiums are presented in the table below. The Fairtrade Premium is paid in
addition to the price. The price is either the negotiated price between seller and buyer (this applies in
case price negotiations are higher than the value of the Fairtrade Minimum Price) or the Fairtrade
Minimum Price (in case price negotiations are lower than the value of the Fairtrade Minimum Price).
The Fairtrade Prices and Premiums are also available in the Fairtrade Minimum Price and Premium
Database on our website under www.fairtrade.net/standards.html.

Ex Works means that delivery of raisins takes place when the seller places the goods at the premises of the seller not
cleared for export and not loaded on any collecting vehicle.
CLARIFICATION ON EXW PRICES FOR RAISINS:
The values of the Ex Works Fairtrade Minimum Price have been set for raisins delivered by producers
at their facilities (either field or SPO facility). The Ex works price does not include costs of: a) loading
and transport raisins from SPO to the buyer facility, b) bulk packages for carrying and delivering
raisins to the buyer, c) sorting, d) grading, e) washing and f) packing.
In cases where the product is delivered in different conditions, the EXW price should be re-negotiated
according with the Generic Trade Standards:
4.3.4 Cases may also arise where Fairtrade Minimum Prices are set at relevant levels, but
where the producer or the payer bears the costs of certain activities which are not reflected in
the price.
Where a producer bears a cost which is not included in the Fairtrade Minimum Price, then this
additional cost must be added to the Fairtrade Minimum Price paid to the producer.
Conversely, where a certain cost is included in the Fairtrade Minimum Price, but the producer is
not responsible for that cost, then that cost may be deducted from the Fairtrade Minimum Price
paid to the producer.
Guidance: For example, if a producer takes responsibility for an activity which is not included in
the Fairtrade Minimum Price (e.g., transport to the harbour, specific packing or processing), the
cost of this additional activity will be added to the Fairtrade Minimum Price paid by the Fairtrade
payer to the producer.
On the other hand, if a producer receives inputs in kind from the Fairtrade payer and the
producer does not pay for them, then the costs of these inputs must be documented and may
be deducted from the price paid by the Fairtrade payer to the producer.
