1 1. Draw a square 18” on the foam board 2. On the top and bottom

1. Draw a square 18” on the foam board
2. On the top and bottom of the square mark the middle point and mark 3” intervals to left and
right from the middle point
3. Draw a center line from top middle point to the bottom middle point
4. Draw a 30 degree line from the lower right edge and repeat drawing the line parallel to the first
line in the middle of the square ( you can mark this line as your start).
Extend those lines that are visible outside the square!
5. Draw a 30 degree line from the top right edge and parallel - this marking will help you to
weave the last set
6. Tape backing fabric (wrong side facing up) to your board with painter tape

7. Choose your first tubes (should be color easy to mark ) . Black tubes were used here. Only this
one set cut in half and pin to the board from the middle top point to the right and left. Pin tube
both ends . Place tubes close together to touch.
2
8. With a chalk mark on the set tubes the 30 degree line (marked in point 4.)

9. The first medium tube (here orange/ yellow ) will pass from right to left over the first dark tube,
under the next two tubes, over the one tube and under the next two tubes (repeat till the end
of the columns).
Pin both ends of the tub as you finished with weaving the tube
4
10. The second medium tube is woven above the first shifted by one to the left
5
11. Continue weaving to fill the board - each tube is long enough for two long rows and more for
lower left and upper right portion of the board.
6
12. Weaving the light tube - here green color.
We will cover with the light tube the two triangles of the dark tube – see the picture
For the first light tube use the marking from section 5 - stretch the tube from left to right to get
the first place to start weaving.
Once the first tube is done follow the pattern
7
13. Tighten the tubes as you go and pin to the board – fill out top left and right bottom last with
shorter pieces.
8
14. Tape the section that looks finished - remove the push pins. Pin the woven top together with
the backing and stitch with your sewing machine. Trim to desired size (square or rectangle ).
