The “right“ child seat is distinguished by several important factors. As age is regarded as a guide
only, the seat must be perfectly matched to the weight of the child. The child seat and vehicle
must be perfectly coordinated as only then is optimal safety guaranteed. We always recommend
that you take your child for a sitting and fitting session at your dealer. Then you will quickly see
whether the seat fits the vehicle and whether or not your child likes it.
The RECARO ISOFIX system is an extremely safe and convenient alternative to securing the
child seat with the vehicle’s seatbelt. This enables the two seats RECARO Young Profi plus
(ECE Group 0+) – which ADAC confirmed in 2007 as providing the greatest safety in an accident
(1.3) – and the RECARO Young Expert plus (ECE Group I) to be quickly and easily fixed in the car.
The standardised mounting points in the vehicle easily anchor the platform onto the locations
provided (vehicle must be factory-fitted with ISOFIX). The seats are then firmly connected
to the ISOFIX platform with our own developed mechanism. It is then no longer necessary to
fasten the seat using the 3-point standard seat belt but this can be used as an alternative.

With over one hundred years of company history and longstanding expertise in the construction of high-quality car seats

engineers. The result was an unrivalled child seat range.
Like their big brother the car seat, all products in the RECARO Young Line are
distinguished by their excellent features. Only at RECARO are all child seats
treated like adult car seats and tested in accordance with the stringent
requirements of the automotive industry. What’s more,
your little ones will sit in “a real RECARO“ – a very

There are significant differences in terms of safety and comfort among the numerous child
seat systems currently available on the market. Not all child seats are equally effective in
every vehicle, you must therefore ask yourself the question. “Which seat is the right one for our
child?“ The answer has to be: a RECARO – without a doubt the best decision.

By law, restraint systems must be used for securing children into a vehicle. Child
safety seats must be constructed, tested and approved. All New Zealand RECARO
seats are tested in accordance with ECE Regulation 44/03 or 44/04 and bear the ECE
test mark.
The European categories for child safety seats let you quickly and easily choose the appropriate
seat for your child. The ECE standard differentiates between four different weight groups, which
can be seen in the following table. The right seat not only has to fit but also has to please the
little ones.

Play it safe – RECARO ISOFIX Base
ISOFIX is an international, standardised mounting system for groups 0+ and I child seats that
have their own harness system. In the vehicle, appropriate ISOFIX anchors are permanently
mounted to the body-shell. These standardised mountings enable the RECARO ISOFIX Base to
be anchored simply and quickly. Its adjustable supports make it a safe and stable basis for the
RECARO Young Profi plus (up to approx. 15 months) and the RECARO Young Expert plus (up to
approx. 4.5 years).
THE BENEFITS OF THE RECARO
ISOFIX SYSTEM:
• Simpler handling for installing the seat in the vehicle, the chances of misfitting being greatly reduced.
• Optimal protection is provided by
the direct link between system and vehicle bodyshell, irrespective of the position of the anchor points on the adult harnesses.
• The RECARO ISOFIX Base is also suitable for ECE Groups 0+ and I and therefore needs to be purchased only once.
• Seats can also be used in vehicles without ISOFIX anchors
(attachment with vehicle‘s 3-point seat belt).
