JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: Fund Development Coordinator (Part-time) DATE: January 18, 2016 SUPERVISOR: Executive Director POSITION PURPOSE The Fund Development Coordinator will work with the Executive Director to design and execute a balanced and sustainable Fund Development Strategy for Big Brothers Big Sisters of The Georgian Triangle (BBBSGT). PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES/OBJECTIVES Build on the organization’s current Fund Development Strategy to design a short term and long term plan and Case for Support that is aligned with the BBBSGT Strategic Plan with the support of the Executive Director Explore and identify new funding opportunities Write and report on grants with the support of the Executive Director and Office Administrator Create a Major Gift & Planned Giving Strategy Assist with current fundraising events as needed Assist with donor data base management and donation data entry when required Manage potential new fundraising events or initiatives Build relationships with donors, sponsors and community partners Assist Executive Director with developing a Corporate Sponsorship Plan Create and manage a donor and volunteer stewardship and recognition plan Work with Executive Director to create philanthropic marketing messages and communication Assist with social media and website updates Act as an ambassador of BBBSGT to the community which may include delivering presentation and speaking engagements EDUCATION & RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE Education Level: Moderate to high Post-secondary education required Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) or comparable certification considered an asset Social Service education and non-profit experience considered an asset Experience Minimum two years of fundraising experience with proven track record of success required Event coordination experience required Grant writing and reporting experience required Strategic planning experience considered an asset Public speaking experience required Previous customer service experience in a social service or not-for-profit setting Knowledge around the needs of children and families is a definite asset. There is flexibility to work at home when agreed with the Executive Director. Transportation: Driver’s License and regular access to a reliable vehicle is considered a major asset. Mileage will be compensated. Work Week: 10 - 20 hours per week depending on the qualifications and availability of the applicant. Potential for extended hours in the future. This position offers a lot of flexibility and also expects a lot of flexibility. This position is a renewable annual contract.
