Reading:
1.
The student should read a range of fiction and nonfiction material.
2. Should be able to recognize explicit and implicit
meanings in a text.
3. Understand genre, tone, style, of a text. Comment on the
writer’s use of vocabulary.
4. Should be able to understand and comment on the
importance of setting, character study, theme and plot of
a text.
Note:- The abilities of a student will be tested through
letters, forms, leaflets, pamphlet and comprehension
passages taken from any standardized English text on which
questions are based .

1. The student should be able to carry out simple writing
tasks like filling in forms, writing letters or a diary,
designing or gap filling a leaflet or pamphlet, writing a
story, summary or dialogue, writing a report, article or
review.
