Director’s Notes
WiCKED
To my amazement, tonight’s show is the seventh theatrical program of the
Franklin Inn, and our second musical. I am greatly indebted, as we all are, to
the fine lawyers and law students of this cast for their scholarship and good
sportsmanship. This Wi CKED team deserves particular thanks for their
perseverance in the face of losses to the pupillage group, resulting in desperate last minute measures such as rewriting Elphaba (the Wicked Witch) into a
male role, and Laura Gordon graciously taking on a second part.

As L. Frank Baum wrote in 1908, in the preface to his fourth Oz book:
