FROM FRIDAY'S LESSON...
A problem asked to determine if a function f(x) was continuous at x=3 and if it was not, to determine what type of discontinuity existed (removable, jump, or infinite). The function f(x) was found to be discontinuous at x = 3 because f(3) was undefined (failed the first part of the continuity test).
In order to determine what type of discontinuity exists at x=3, you can investigate what happens to the value of f(x) as x approaches 3 from the right and left .
If we obtained the tables below, state what kind of discontinuity would exist at x = 3, for each table.

1­3C End Behavior End Behavior: The end behavior of a function describes how a function “behaves” at either end of the graph. In other words, end behavior is what happens to the value of f(x) as x increases or decreases without bound (goes to positive or negative infinity). We can use the concept of a limit to describe end behavior.
