Château Design Project (50 Points Literary Analysis)
Assignment
Imagine you are on a production/design team who is tasked with building the set for a movie. What does that château
actually look like? Use your reading analysis skills along with your design skills to create a visual representation of
General Zaroff’s palatial château in the short story “The Most Dangerous Game”. You must use Solid Works in your
Design class to build a picture of what this chateau looks like. In general, you must draw upon your mind’s image of this
mansion-on-an-island, but you will also use evidence from the text of the story to justify some of the details.
Requirements
You must create your image of the chateau in Solid Works.
You must text boxes to annotate your image with at least 5 details that come straight from the text of the story. You will
properly cite the text from the story in the text box. These details can pertain to the physical placement, the exterior
and the interior of the château.
Scoring
You will be score based on how well you meet the requirements of the assignment. Criteria:
Student’s design features a “palatial château” that demonstrates basic proficiency with Solid Works
The design is annotated with 5 pieces of textual evidence
The pieces of textual evidence point to appropriate parts of the drawing of the château and they make sense
based on our reading of the text.
