MNMD5.7A Multiply and divide whole numbers and those involving decimals by 10, 100 and 1000. Year 5 children learned about x10, x100, x1000 and ÷10, ÷100, ÷1000 using whole and decimal numbers. Once the children were confident, fluent and accurate they moved on to show they had developed mastery of this skill. This included: identify the operation needed – in the first column identifying missing numbers in the calculation – not just finding the ‘answer’ They were also given a number, which was the ‘answer’, and had to identify 2 different calculations which would give this answer. An example of this is not shown above though.
