CHILDREN'S FARES

DISCOUNTS APPLY TO ALL INTR-ALINE AND INTER-LINE TICKETS WHERE
JEFFERSON LINES IS THE ORIGINATING CARRIER
The subsequent rules are the basis for determining children’s fares. The carriers reserve the right to refuse to transport children from their origin,
when the supervisory of such children is inadequate by the judgment of the supervisory personnel of the origin carrier.
o Under 2 Years of Age: One (1) child who has not reached his or her second (2nd) birthday can travel for free when accompanied by a
passenger who is at least fifteen (15) years of age and will not occupy a seat of their own (the child can sit on the accompanying
passenger’s lap). For children under 2 years of age who will need to occupy a seat to the exclusion of another passenger, please see
restrictions for “Ages 2-11, Inclusive.”
o Ages 2-11, Inclusive: Children in this age range receive twenty percent (20%) off the full adult fare when traveling with a passenger
paying full adult fare and on the same itinerary (both outbound and return). Limit two (2) children fare tickets per one (1) adult fare
ticket. Additional children ages 2-11, inclusive, in the travel party may be subject to paying the full adult fare.
o Ages 12 and Older: Children who have reached their twelfth (12th) birthday will be charged the full adult fare.
Other restrictions:
o Children’s fare will be based on the full fare paid by the accompanying adult and cannot be combined with other discounted fares
or special promotions.
o Children’s fare may not always be available.
o No children’s fare will be honored for tickets destined for casinos.
o All passengers who have not reached their fifteenth (15th) birthday must be accompanied by a passenger of fifteen (15) years of age
or older, or must comply with the guidelines regarding the transportation of Unaccompanied Children as outlined in the Policy
Affecting Unaccompanied Children Under the Age of 15.
POLICY AFFECTING UNACCOMPANIED CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 18
All children and young adults should be prepared to produce a photo ID with proof of age to avoid being refused from traveling on Jefferson Lines.
Children under the age of fifteen (15) cannot travel on Jefferson Lines alone and must be accompanied by someone at least seventeen (17) years
of age or older.
Children ages fifteen (15) and sixteen (16) years old can travel alone (unaccompanied) subject to the following restrictions:
1) An Unaccompanied Child Form must be completed at the station at the time of purchase so that the child passenger’s ID can be
verified, Jefferson Lines can receive consent for the child to travel, and a designated person is assigned to pick up the child at the
destination. These steps are necessary to ensure the safe travel of the unaccompanied child.
2) The trip should be direct (no transfer of schedules or buses).
3) The trip cannot exceed a maximum of 8 hours of travel each way (outbound or return) and must occur during the hours of 7:00AM
and 8:00PM.
4) The origin and destination stations should be fully serviced Jefferson Lines stations (no curbside stops) and the station should be
open when the child’s bus is scheduled to arrive.
5) The child must have and carry with him/her a copy of the signed Unaccompanied Child Form, giving them permission to travel.
6) The person named on the Unaccompanied Form who is picking up the child must present positive photo ID, such as a driver’s
license or state issued ID. Without the correct ID, the child may be released into the custody of Child Protective Services or to local
law enforcement.
7) Tickets for unaccompanied children can only be purchased in person (not online) at the departing Jefferson Lines station.
8) A $5 fee for one-way travel or $10 fee for roundtrip travel must be paid at the point of purchase for each child traveling
unaccompanied.
Unaccompanied Child Form: The parent, guardian, or legal custodian of the child must complete and sign the Unaccompanied Child Form, in
person at the originating Jefferson Lines station, authorizing the child to make the trip. The form must be returned to the station manager on duty.
The form specifically names the person authorizing the trip, the designated person meeting the child at the destination station, and the telephone
number(s) at which both persons may be contacted. It must also provide an emergency contact name and telephone number in the event it is
needed.

SENIOR CITIZEN’S FARES

DISCOUNT APPLIES TO ALL INTRA-LINE AND INTER-LINE TICKETS WHERE
JEFFERSON LINES IS THE ORIGINATING CARRIER
Tickets sold to persons age sixty-two (62) or older will be discounted 5%, adjusted where necessary to end in the next higher "0" or "5"
cents.
The passenger must submit proof of age to the selling agent, such as birth certificate, driver’s license, passport, or other similar
document.
Ticket limit will be the same as the undiscounted ticket limit.
Advance purchase fares, day of week restricted fares, schedule restricted fares, casino fares, commuter fares
or fares already discounted for a specific class or group of passengers (such as students or military personnel) do
not qualify for senior discounts unless specifically stated with such promotion.

NON-PARTICIPATING INTER-LINE CARRIER
Purchase a one-way or round-trip adult fare and take up to 2 companions for a 10% discount.
Originating travel may begin any day of the week, excluding blackout periods.
EFFECTIVE: January 18, 2016
EXPIRES: No expiration date.
SALE: Tickets on sale daily and must be purchased 3 days in advance of first travel.
LIMITS: Tickets limited to specific schedule and departure date for which sold ONLY and must be purchased a minimum of 3
days in advance of travel.
HONORING: Tickets will be honored for travel originating any day of the week, excluding blackout periods.
Passenger and companion must travel together for the entire trip.
Passengers who begin their going trip or return trip before a restricted period but extend into a restricted period will
be permitted to travel through to destination. No transportation may begin during a restricted period.
DISCOUNTS: Only the senior and child's discounts WILL apply
CHILDREN: A Child Discount and a Companion Fare Discount cannot be combined
PREMIUMS: Holiday and Weekend Premiums WILL apply to the base fare.
REFUND: NON REFUNDABLE
EXCHANGE: Subject to a $20 change of itinerary fee
UPGRADE: An advance purchase fare may be upgraded to a walk-up fare for a charge of $15 per transaction plus the
difference between the advance purchase fare and the walk-up fare. If the walk-up fare is less than the advance
purchase fare, no refund will be given. The origin and/or destination may NOT be changed in an upgrade.

STOP-OVERS: Stop-overs en route will NOT be permitted.

Size:
A single piece of baggage must not exceed 62 inches when adding the total outside dimensions of
the bag: Length + Width + Height. A reduced express charge of $30, $35 or $40 will be assessed for each piece
over and above the 62-inch dimensional limit. See express terms and conditions for maximum size limitations.
Packaging:
Packaging only exceptions to the following items:
Bicycles, skis and ski poles must be packed in wood, canvas or other substantial container, and securely fastened.
Weight:
Maximum allowable weight for a single piece of baggage is 50 pounds. If a bag exceeds the 50-pound limit
and is less than 75 pounds, it may be transported in express shipping service subject to express terms and conditions.
Excess or Overweight Baggage:
Baggage exceeding the size or weight limits will be transported in express service under the Xpress
Baggage Service at reduced rates based on current Express Rate Zones. Baggage destined to
Express Rate Zones A thru C, will be $30 per piece, while baggage destined to Express Rate Zone D will be
$35 per piece and Express Rate Zone E will be $40 per piece.

To ship Overweight Baggage at Xpress Baggage Rates, passenger must show proof of ticket purchase.
Baggage may be shipped to destination shown on ticket only and at the same time as the passenger.

Maximum value for Xpress Baggage will be $1,000 per shipment. Free value allowance is $250.

CHANGE OF ITINERARY FEES:
Departure date and time for a refundable fare ticket may be changed without charge, origin and destination may not be changed.
Departure date and time for a non-refundable fare ticket may be changed for a charge of $20 per ticket provided the following conditions
are met:
1. Any advance purchase requirement must not be violated.
2. Holiday blackout restrictions for Advance Purchase fares must not be violated in any exchange.
3. Origin or destination may NOT be changed in an exchange.
4. A Non-refundable Fare Ticket will remain non-refundable.
5. One year time limit of original ticket must not be violated. All transactions and travel must be completed within one year of the
