'Merry Christmas from the Friends'
We would like to say thank you to everyone for supporting the events this term.
Our Christmas events have raised £1142.48, which includes a massive £623.76 from the Fair,
£292.17 from the Nativity raffles and £127 from the selection box raffle.
A fantastic amount to go towards the outside learning space.
We wish you all a Merry Christmas and look forward to next term's events.
Collection for St. Benedict’s in Kimilili
Due to your generous donations we are able to send over £553.35 to St. Benedict’s. This will enable
the children to have a wonderful Christmas. Thank you.
And Finally…
I cannot quite believe that I have been at St. John’s for a term now. We have done such a
lot in a term and I am incredibly excited about all that lies ahead of us in 2017.
I wish you a blessed and peaceful holiday and look forward to seeing you all again on
Tuesday 3rd January.

Gospel: Matthew 1:18-24
Inspired by God, Joseph takes Mary home as his wife
The birth of Jesus the Messiah took place in this way. When his mother Mary had been engaged to Joseph, but
before they lived together, she was found to be with child from the Holy Spirit. Her husband Joseph, being a
righteous man and unwilling to expose her to public disgrace, planned to dismiss her quietly. But just when he
had resolved to do this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph, son of David, do not
be afraid to take Mary as your wife, for the child conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will bear a son,
and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.”
All this took place to fulfill what had been spoken by the Lord through the prophet: “Look, the virgin shall
conceive and bear a son, and they shall name him Emmanuel,” which means, “God is with us.”
When Joseph awoke from sleep, he did as the angel of the Lord commanded him; he took her as his wife.
