PLEASE READ: Below are marriage records found in the meeting minutes
and marriage record books of the Marlboro ugh Monthly Meeting of northeast Stark
County, Ohio, covering 1828 - 1870. Quakers were often married by Banns, whereby
the couple’s intention to marry was announced in church for several consecutive weeks.
If no objections were raised, the couple was married at the end of the waiting period.
No civil marriage licenses were issued. Most, if not all, of these records will not be
recorded anywhere else.
The records are arranged here alphabetically by the groom’s name with a brides’
index at the end of the document which refers you to the groom’s entry. The letters and
numbers in brackets [ ] ending each entry are the source and page number of the
original records.
