'' Our Youth, Our Future''
August 2012
Fellow Lions:
First of all I want to thank the Bridgewater and Area Lions Club for hosting the
2012 DGO/Summer Cabinet Meeting on July the 21st with a special thanks to Lion
Carolee Richardson and Lion Elliott Corkum who chaired this. At the meeting there
were 180 Lions in attendance which was a great turnout. A job well done to all.
I know all of our Lions are getting geared up to start the new Lions year with their
new Officers and working on the various projects in your Clubs. I look forward to
reading your reports each month on what your Club is doing and hopefully I will
hear from all of our Clubs as these reports are important to me.
Our next District event is the annual Golf Tournament at the Claire Golf Club on
August 10th-12th hosted by the Middleton & District Lions. If you are not registered yet contact Lion Dave Diggins at 902-825-6152 as he still may have spots
available.
Our next Cabinet meeting is on Oct 13th hosted by the Kingston Lions Club so
please book early, contact Cabinet Chair Lion Butch Fleury at 902-765-6262
To the new Lions in our Clubs please try to attend one of the Lions Information
Sessions coming up in September and October, contact PDG Earl Einarson at 902863-1969 for more info on these. As our International President Wayne Madden
says, we must train our new Lions right from the start not only as Lions but as potential leaders in our great Organization.
To all of our clubs if you are hosting a Major event or project please contact me so
that I may visit and see your Club in action if I am available.
This year we as a team will ''Watch Lionism Grow'' in our District though hard
work and dedication by all.
Yours in Lionism DG Wayne

JUST FOR LAUGHS
How important does a person have to be before they are considered assassinated instead of just murdered?
If money doesn't grow on trees then why do banks have branches?
Since bread is square, then why is sandwich meat round?
Why do you have to "put your two cents in"...but it's only a "penny for your
thoughts"? Where's that extra penny going to?
Once you're in heaven, do you get stuck wearing the clothes you were buried in for
eternity?
Why does a round pizza come in a square box?
What did cured ham actually have?
How is it that we put man on the moon before we figured out it would be a good idea
to put wheels on luggage?
Why is it that people say they "slept like a baby" when babies wake up like every two
hours?
If a deaf person has to go to court, is it still called a hearing?
If you drink Pepsi at work in the Coke factory, will they fire you?
Why are you IN a movie, but you are ON TV?
Why do people pay to go up tall buildings and then put money in binoculars to look at
things on the ground?
How come we choose from just two people for President and fifty for Miss America?
Why do doctors leave the room while you change? They're going to see you naked
anyway.
If a 911 operator has a heart attack, whom does he/she call?
Why is "bra" singular and "panties" plural?
