Each club entered is expected to provide officials AND timers commensurate with their number of athletes entered. Officials are requested to sign-up on-line for their position(s)/session(s) prior to the meet. VENUE: Kona Community Aquatic Center, 75-5530 Kuakini Hwy, Kailua-Kona, HI 96745 COURSE: 8 lane, 50m x 25yd facility set for LCM 50m racing course. Minimum Racing Start depth 9’0”. Turn Depth 4’0”. The competition course has not been certified in accordance with 104.2.2C(4). SCHEDULE: Warm-Ups: 8:15 A.M. TO 9:15 A.M. Races Start: 9:30 AM. Warm-up schedules may be provided before the start of the meet RULES: The meet will be conducted in accordance with current USA Swimming and Hawaiian Swimming rules. The Meet Marshals, with concurrence of the Meet Referee, shall have full authority to remove or have removed from the vicinity of the competition anyone whose behavior or actions are unsafe or are disrupting the orderly conduct of the meet, including the disqualification of athletes from competition. FORMAT: Timed finals for all events. Seeded and swum slowest to fastest. TIMING: Automatic timing system with manual backup. DIVISIONS: 8 & Under, 9-10, 10 & Under, 10-12, 11-12, 12-14, 13-14, 15-16, 17-18, 19 & Over. Divisions may be swum combined with results ranked and awarded separately. “OPEN” indicates all ages are seeded together but awarded by division. EVENT SCHEDULE: See attached list of events. ELIGIBILITY: No swimmer who is not a member as provided in Article 302 will be allowed to compete or participate except as provided under 202.6 or USA Swimming’s “open border” policy included in its Registration Manual. The registration number of each athlete must be included in the entry file. All NEW Hawaiian Swimming registrations (including registration fee) must be mailed directly by each Club Registrar to the LSC Registrar. New registrations must be POSTMARKED NO LATER than 14 days prior to the scheduled start of the meet. No deck registration will be accepted. It is the legal responsibility of each club to ensure that each athlete entered is USA Swimming registered for the current year. ENTRY LIMITS: Athletes may enter a maximum of four (4) individual events. Entries for 10 & Over events must make the 11-12 HI-AA time in the event, or already have in SWIMS an 11-12 HI-AA time in the corresponding shorter event. It is the responsibility of the team to provide proof if the swimmer does not make the time or the team will be subject to fine by the LSC per the Rules & Regs 6.01 for swimming out of classification, and the athlete’s swim will be removed from the meet. In addition, 10 year olds swimming these events must be turning 11 before the next Age Group Championship meet. 12 year olds swimming events over 500y/400m must turn 13 before the next Age Group Championships meet. ENTRY PROCEDURES: Entries must be RECEIVED NO LATER than the entry deadline. No late entries will be accepted at the meet. Entries must be submitted electronically using Hy-Tek Team Manager or other SD3 compatible program AND include “‘exported’ entry file, “Team Report” with coach and entry person contact information, and “Entry Fee Report” utilizing the proof of time function. ENTRY FEES: $2.00 per individual Event. Entry fees must accompany entries OR be submitted to Clerk of Course upon check-in. No refunds will be made. Make checks payable to: Big Island Swimming. Bring payment to the meet and give to the clerk of course. SCRATCHES: Scratches are due to the Clerk of Course one (1) hour before the scheduled start of the session. Coaches are to present their credentials to the Clerk of Course to pick up scratch sheets and heat sheets. Supervising coaches must have their USA Swimming Registration Card displayed at all times. The Meet Marshals will enforce the warm-up procedures and maintain order in the swimming venue. Disregard of USA Swimming safety rules will be grounds for disqualification of athletes from competition. Warmup lanes may be assigned in advance the Big Island Swimming President, delegate, or Meet Director. RACING STARTS: Any swimmer entered in the meet must be certified by a USA Swimming member coach as being proficient in performing a racing start or must start each race from within the water. When unaccompanied by a membercoach, it is the responsibility of the swimmer or the swimmer’s legal guardian to ensure compliance with this requirement. st th AWARDS: Individuals will be awarded ribbons for 1 through 8 place in each age group division including the 10-12 and 12-14 divisions and excluding 19 & Over. OFFICIALS: Each club entered is expected to provide officials AND timers commensurate with their number of entries. Key officials will be assigned their duties prior to the meet. For clubs entered with less than five (5) athletes, at least one (1) official will be required. All officials, timers, and marshals report to the Meet Referee. Note: Additionally, the Big Island Swimming Delegates (members from each Hawaii Island swim team) agreed that EACH TEAM IS REQUIRED TO PROVIDE AT LEAST ONE DECK OFFICIAL PER MEET. Teams are to e-mail the meet referee, with a list of deck officials that will be available to work at the meet. RESULTS: Final Results will be posted on the Hawaiian Swimming website: www.hawaiianswimming.org. Meet results including TM files will be emailed to head coaches. HOSPITALITY: Refreshments will be available for Officials and Coaches during the meet. CONCESSION: TBA. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Venue and pool rules will be strictly enforced. Parking is permitted only in marked areas. Except where venue facilities require otherwise, changing into or out of swimsuits other than in locker rooms or other designated areas is not appropriate and is prohibited. USA-S rule 102.8D will be enforced: swimsuits worn for competition must be non-transparent and conform to the current concept of the appropriate. Use of audio or visual recording devices, including a cell phone, is not permitted in changing areas, restrooms, or locker rooms. Photography behind the starting area(s) is not permitted. Only officials, timers, coaches, and athletes are permitted on the pool deck during competition. Athletes are to return to their team area soon after they have completed their events. ANIMALS/PETS – animals and pets are NOT allowed with the facility. Service animals with verified certification are allowed.
