The badminton season begins the first week of March. All matches are played in the gym before school,
Tuesday through Friday depending on division of play. Intramural badminton is for everyone and every skill
level. Open to staff and students. The season lasts approximately 7 weeks.

Description:
The chess club meets with the main purpose of developing tournament chess players in order to field a
complete varsity chess team of five skilled players. The chess team will compete in team matches against the
other high schools in the NW Chess League and at the High School State Team Chess Championship.

Description: This club meets two times per week to work on debate technique, strategy and research.
Students argue for real change in policy at the government level. They compete in tournaments across the
Pacific Northwest. Debate fee $40.00 per month. Season Starts Sept and ends in March, but interested
students are welcome at any time.

DECA is a club for students interested in business, marketing, and entrepreneurship. Members must be

Description:
Thespians are a chapter in the International Thespian Society (ITS). The Thespian troupe sponsors Sehome’s
theatrical events, including an annual 24-Hour Play Festival, volunteer opportunities, field trips and
fundraisers. They also support the fall and spring mainstage drama productions, compete in local and State
competitions, and attend theatre in our community. They meet approximately twice a month throughout the
year.

Description:
This club is our junior engineers club that primarily focuses on bridge building. Students work on design and
construction of a bridge that they will compete against other schools on design and efficiency. This is a
project that physics students generally get involved with but all students are welcome.

This is a club that competes against other schools throughout the year on their quick recall of knowledge in a wide
range of topics, math, history, science, English lit, grammar, foreign languages, current events, geography, art, music,
etc. There are 3 competitions, one in Nov, Dec and Jan which determine who will go on to the state qualifying
competition in February. Knowledge Bowl starts in the fall and continues through early March.

Sehome High School's singing group for men is an ensemble designed to give every male student the
opportunity to build vocal skills, presentation skills, and confidence in a friendly, supportive environment.
No audition, commitment, or prior experience is necessary. Any male student is welcome at any meeting.
Students who come regularly will be invited to perform at Choir Concerts and other events.

Description
October, November, and December the robotics club spends preparing for the FIRST Robotics competition.
The FIRST Robotics build season begins the first week in January and goes through
April. During January and February the club meets every day after school. After the FIRST Robotics season the
club begins to meet once a week again doing smaller robotics projects.

Description:
The Science Olympiad Club will begin meeting in October. This year we will have 8 teams. We compete
against other schools at the local and state level. There are 15 members per team and we will travel to the
regional tournament in early March in Seattle. We hope to then qualify for the state competition. There are
23 events ranging from problem solving to lab stations to building devices that perform specific tasks. . For

Description:
Teen Court is a by students, for students program that sees cases of second offenders. The offender admits to
the offense and agrees to go before a jury of his peers who determine the consequences necessary to restore
the offender back to society. The jury, advocates (attorneys), bailiff, clerk, and judge are all high school
students from various schools around the county. Participants learn about the justice system, how to serve the
community, and gain real life skills such as public speaking and collaboration.

Description:
The Unified Club brings together students with and without disabilities. It pairs our lifeskills students with
our general education students in order to build authentic friendships and to break down social barriers
through common interests, sports and other activities. We get to know one another, we support Sehome
programs with our attendance at their events, and we seek to build unity in our school.
