Shadow-What Are You Casting? The 3 Foundational Leadership Skills to Cast a Positive Shadow and Influence the Organization There is an old quote from author Robert Fulghum that sums up leadership, “Don’t worry your children hear what you say, worry instead that your children are watching what you do!” That secret is that our employees are not listening to what we say but watching what we do. As leaders, we all cast a shadow and it’s in this shadow that our people take their cues as to what to do and how to do it, safe or otherwise. What shadow are you casting? In order to be a proven leader and ultimately cast a positive and powerful shadow over time, there are three key foundational leadership skills, or the ABCs of Leadership. In this fun, meaningful and lasting keynote presentation learn these key skills along with tools and techniques to bring them to life. The three foundational (ABC’s) leadership skills are: Accountability-In most organizations, this word, ‘accountability,’ has a very negative connotation yet if defined correctly it can be a key leadership tool. Belief Systems-Beliefs trigger thoughts, thoughts fuel actions and actions lead to results. It is in this formula that one small change can trigger farreaching results. Credibility-Roy Disney said, “Decisions are easy when values are clear.” “Matt’s presentation is motivational, thought-provoking and inspiring. He kept his audience engaged and they all left with the knowledge that what they do to promote safety is worthwhile and making a difference.” --Debora S.
