Amy`s Bio

Amy Koons - Is a founding board member and currently the director of family services. She
oversees what our families and helps provide support where our families need it most. Amy has
the ability to bring people together and make a big impact on those around her.
Amy has a Bachelor degree Early Childhood Development and Elementary Education. She also
has a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction. Amy was an elementary teacher for ten years
for the Park Hill School District. She was actively involved and worked closely with many Park
Hill committees inside and outside of her school building. Amy was the recipient of the Park Hill
Spirit Award voted on by the staff in her elementary school. Amy also spoke at colleges for
recruitment for the Park Hill School District. She was a SOAR board member, and helped make
important decisions regarding students individual education. Amy was the Student Council
advisor and enjoyed working with students of all ages. Her focus was teaching students to be
involved in our community and helping others.
Currently, Amy stays at home with her two young children, Crosby and Ellsyn. Amy works parttime for Missouri First Steps as a Special Instructor, Developmental Therapist. Amy works
closely with families to ensure their child is meeting important developmental milestones. Amy is
a parent educator and helps guide parents throughout their child's early education process.
Amy's experience with children and their families is important as she helps support our TNKCF
families.
