The past two weeks we have been learning all about
ourselves, and the feelings that we have. Our unit of study,
I am Amazing! I Feel Fine!, was about the different emotions
that we have, and how we can use them to be our best. Each
of our kinder friends is special and unique, with similarities
and differences. We also loved learning more about each
other with our brown bags filled with our favorite things.
In our next unit of study, Those Nearest and Dearest,
we will be learning about those close to us - our friends and
families. We will learn more about how we can make friends,
work together and care more about each other in our
classroom, and at home.
We have been able to meet lots of faces the past few
weeks at school. Our counselors, and additional faculty have
been reading books to us about how to be good listeners, how
to use our hands to help, not hurt, and much more! We are
thankful for such good examples by people who care for us.
In writing, we are practicing making our letters “the
kindergarten way”. When writing our own stories, we
listen to the sounds in the word, and then put those
sounds on our papers to create the words we are telling.
We have been working hard to remember that punctuation
marks go at the end of every sentence, and to capitalize
the first word in our sentences.
Literacy Tip : Please use the themed vocabulary in this newsletter (above) with your students every day! This will
help to expand their oral language skills, which is a major focus for us in kindergarten!
Math Tip: Encourage number writing at home, and practice oral counting every night! Set a fun goal each week :)

Dragon Folder each school day, and return it the
next school day. Important information is sent home
often!

to eat at school. Also, please help your child to

 Help our school raise money by sending the following;

Box tops (Please cut on the dotted lines, we are
required to send them in this way! Writing how many

Anti-Bullying Report
Our kinder friends have been working
hard to practice using kind words with
one another, and keeping our hands to
ourselves! We have learned how to give
an “I-Message” to help solve our problems
independently, and how we can help to
keep everyone at school safe and happy
by being bucket fillers!
