Instructions
This collection includes easy-to-make in the hoop door hangers for the tween. Does your tween need a biohazard
warning outside their bedroom? Then hang the Biohazard door hanger on their door. There are a couple with
pockets and one of them with chalk board fabric to write their own message. In the Hoop Tween Door Hangers
#12581 are made just for them!
Supplies

• Heavy weight wash away stabilizer
• OESD FiberForm Craft Interfacing Sheet
• Temporary spray adhesive
• Isacord embroidery threads
• Embroidery machine
• OESD Appliqué Fuse and Fix
• Fabrics for each door hanger:
o12581-01 Flower Pocket Appliqué • (2) 6" x 10" pieces cotton fabric (front & back)
• 4 ½" x 9 ½" piece flower fabric (pocket)
NOTE: Wrong sides together, fold pocket in half and

Cut
Print door hanger pattern for each door hanger. For each door hanger, cut FiberForm using door hanger
pattern. Follow the Cut in Place Appliqué Instructions.
NOTE:

instructions. For the door hangers with appliqué, follow the
appliqué instructions.
• Hoop 2 layers of heavy weight wash away stabilizer.
• Stitch first stitch of embroidery design which is the Hanger
Placement Stitch. PHOTO 1
• Using temporary spray adhesive, lightly spray the Placement
Stitch. Center and place pre-cut FiberForm door hanger shape
over the Placement Stitch. PHOTO 2

• Lightly spray the shape. Center and
place door hanger front fabric right side
up over the shape. PHOTO 3
• Stitch the second stitch of embroidery
design called Cut Line and Tackdown.

machine. Stitch the next color called
Back Cut Line and Tackdown.
• Take the hoop off the embroidery
machine. Trim fabric along the outer

• The last color is the Cover Stitch. If
you haven’t already changed out your
bobbin thread now is the time. PHOTO 14
• Remove the door hanger from the hoop. Remove the excess wash away stabilizer.

• Take the hoop off the embroidery
machine. Trim fabric along the outer
and inner circle cut line. PHOTO 5
• Put the hoop back on the embroidery
machine. Stitch the next color for the
design on the door hanger according to

• Stitch the next stitch called Flower Pot

• Place the folded piece of the pocket
piece along the top of the Flower Pot

• Take the hoop off the embroidery
machine. Trim fabric along the sides

• Stitch the next stitch called Flower Pot

• Take the hoop off the embroidery
machine. Trim any jump threads. Lightly
spray on the back of the hoop. Center
and place door hanger back fabric right
side out over the back of the hoop.

Hoop your fabric and backing.
Sew the pattern/placement. PHOTO 1
Place a piece of appliqué fabric over the pattern/placement so that it is completely covered.
Sew the trim stitch/tackdown.
Carefully cut away the excess appliqué fabric. PHOTO 2
Sew the remainder of the design and repeat for any remaining pieces. PHOTO 3
