OUTLET "B" 35-1/2" A A OUTLET "C" TOP VIEW DIFFUSION FLOW TECHNOLOGY The inlet diffuser splits influent into three paths, creating laminar flow and utilizing the entire liquid volume of the tank for efficient grease separation. The calibrated openings greatly reduce effluent turbulence. The effluent enters the main chamber without disturbing the existing grease or sediment layers. The integral air relief / anti-siphon in the top of the outlet diffuser allows pressure stabilization within the unit during operation. The bottom of the outlet diffuser allows only effluent which is free of grease to exit the tank. It can easily be attached to any of the three outlets provided to ease jobsite piping layouts. 41-1/4" CL OF INLET AIR RELIEF/ANTI-SIPHON ON OUTLET DIFFUSER STATIC WATER LINE 6-1/4" 10-1/2" CL OF OUTLET 32-1/2" ENGINEER SPECIFICATION GUIDE 22" Schier Trapper™ grease interceptor model # PATG-3628 shall be lifetime guaranteed and made in USA of seamless, rotationally-molded polyethylene with minimum 3/8" uniform wall thickness. DO NOT AIR TEST UNIT! Doing so may result in property damage, personal injury or death. LEAK/SEAL TESTING Cap/plug all base unit plumbing connections and remove cover. Fill with water to just above the highest connection. Inspect unit and connections for leaks. Check water level at specific time intervals per local code. GENERAL INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Schier grease interceptors are rated and manufactured with an internal flow control system. They do not require an external flow control system or air intake vent. Flow control plate may be removed when interceptor is is installed less than 13 feet below the fixtures being served. Schier grease interceptors are not to be installed in any other manner except as shown. Consult local codes for separate trapping requirements, cleanout locations and additional installation instructions. 1. Set unit on level solid surface as close as possible to fixtures being served. 2. Connect outlet diffuser to the desired outlet (A,B,C). Unit is shipped with the outlet diffuser in location B and sealing caps on locations A and C. 3. Connect inlet and outlet drainage lines to unit. Mechanically couple pipes to unit. Do not solvent weld. Roll down inlet line using (2) 45º elbows immediately preceding the unit to ensure inlet pipe is clear of water. 4. To conduct a pressure test on the pipes, remove diffusers and fasten green caps to the inlet and outlet connections. Do not pressure test unit. Hand tighten inlet/outlet diffusers and caps back to chosen positions. 5. Run sinks to fill unit with water and replace cover. BELOW GRADE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS If unit is buried, backfill with sand or pea gravel. Pour concrete and install finished floor. Note: maximum extension dimension is 36" INDIRECT CONNECTIONS Flow control plate Roll Down FLOW CONTROL PLATE DETAIL SIDE VIEW DETAIL Vent Rubber cap with 1/2" dia. orifice (by others) Floor Drain/ Floor Sink 10' Recommended INSTALLATION FOLLOWING INDIRECT CONNECTION Installing a rubber cap with a 1/2" diameter orifice at the point of discharge to the floor sink may be necessary to prevent overflow when the flow control plate is installed. MAINTENANCE 1. Remove cover. 2. Remove all contents of grease interceptor including grease, sediment and wastewater. 3. To access inlet and outlet lines for cleaning, remove the diffusers. Clean diffusers thoroughly before replacing to original positions. 4. Hand tighten inlet and outlet diffusers back to original positions. 5. Run sinks to fill unit with water and replace cover. Dispose of grease per local code. PUMPING FREQUENCY Frequency depends on the capacity of the interceptor and the amount of grease and sediment in the wastewater. After initial installation, it is recommended that the unit is pumped every 3 to 4 weeks. Monitor each pumping to establish an adequate maintenance schedule based off actual kitchen variances. TROUBLESHOOTING TIPS In the case of a clog, inlet and outlet diffusers may be removed for line cleaning. Slower than usual sink drainage may indicate the need to pump/clean grease interceptor. Always take proper care to ensure a safe and healthy environment while cleaning interceptor. For best cleaning and maintenance service, call your local sewer and drain contractor.
